Located in an area of levee sois across Wat Pho full of restaurants for tourists, The Sixth also caters for farangs, and there were no Thais eating when we were there - but it does so on a very high level. To be honest, we went to this place rather than Sala Rattanakosin (where we were before) because it was much cheaper, but I can say the food is really excellent. Ah, and this one rather than the many others in the same area because it had the best Google ranking (4.7) and because of the nice decor. The decor, by the way, is world class; London level for sure (and I mean that in a style sense, not imperialistically). Very nice service (only the doorman weirdly sultry); fast; really competitive prices - yes 110 for fried rice is not street food level but nor is the ambiance. And the Tom Kha Gai was really one of the best I ever had. Fresh fruit drinks with determinable sugar level, too. The place makes particular sense if you've been in Wat Pho before, because it is really across the street, if you take the exit towards the river (check your map). Altogether, strongly recommended as a friendly stylish place with excellent food for slightly lower than appropriate prices.

We tried to come here on day one of our Bangkok trip but there was a 30 minute wait for tables. We returned around midday the following day to find no queue (just a tip for people who want to eat here!) It’s a small restaurant with probably only around 12 covers at a time. You know the food is legit because when you use the bathroom you have to walk through the tiny kitchen where the chefs are working away. Great service and I can see why this place gets great reviews for its food. Did not disappoint.

My family and I ate at the Sixth today and had an outstanding meal. The restaurant is very small (about room for 20 total people) so you may have a wait. That being said - the wait was well worth. Per my wife the fried rice was the best she ever had. I had the chicken cashew pineapple dish along with the Parmesan French fries and both were delicious. Very enjoyable meal.

We passed here by accident and I recalled reading an article about it. It did disappoint. Only a few tables we sat outside to people watch. Two portions of padtai with drinks for less than a tenner was a great lunch,in a great setting. The staff are effiecent and courteous. Would diffinately recommend this place.

This little restaurant is a gem! The food was that great that I went for lunch 3 days in a row. Each day I tried different dishes and drinks. The dishes represent authentic Thai cuisine and are absolutely delicious. The service was also great, and the waitresses pay a lot of attention to customer feedback. If I go back to Bangkok, I will eat again at this restaurant!

Came here after reading the great reviews. The place was small but in a cosy way, and comfortable, with aircon that was definitely welcomed on a boiling hot day in Bangkok! Although I have to say the stag head and stuffed otter (even if fake) on the wall was very unnecessary and quite disturbing, but I suppose this is personal preference. The food was tasty, I enjoyed a Shrimp Pad Thai while my partner had a Vegetable Panang curry which he said was authentically Thai and overall did not disappoint. Plus the prices were reasonable and affordable. The service however, lacked. For most of our meal we had a waiter who barely smiled, and looked bored and distracted. The waitress at the end who gave us the bill and said goodbye was more pleasant to us in those five minutes than he was the hour we were there! Let the place down a bit, but wouldn’t necessarily stop us from returning.

This was a fantastic spot for lunch when visiting the grand palace, Wat Arun and the reclining buddha. The food was beautiful and the mango sticky rice was so tasty I wanted to lick the plate. The cold beverages were also very, very good. We would definitely go again. It is only small, so if you want to eat inside at lunchtime, be early.

Had read some good reviews about this place so tried it. The reviews are correct. It is a lovely little budget restaurant. There was a large selection of menu options, all the things we ordered was delicious, and modestly priced. The service was quietly print and competent. It was a perfect place to try some well cooked Thai food in a relaxed, small restaurant. Slightly cramped, though, so better for quick meals. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic lunch here. When ordering the papaya salad, we were asked how spicy we wanted this and it was made accorindingly. Food tasted really fresh and was so tasty. We started with the prawn cakes and the salad and then ordered the salt&chilli prawns and the chicken with cashew nut and pineapple. All delicious and a really nice style inside this small friendly restaurant.

After so much fatigue after the temples this has been a gift! Exquisite food, fresh, clean, very friendly and very well priced. I had a cold coconut and it was spectacular and you eat the meat too apart from drinking the water 🥰 I love spicy but in terms of spiciness I have chosen a little and it was the right thing to do! It will be more to suffer haha

Delicious food, we ordered the shrimp pad thai and Tom yom soup. You can see the quality of the ingredients and the mastery of who prepares it. We had to be alone in a quiet area of the restaurant and the truth a great experience, quiet to eat delicious. Highly recommended. So far our favorite food place in Bangkok day 2.

Perfect position next to Wat Pho. We popped in for lunch after a few hours around the temple. The air conditioning was glorious and cooling after 3 hours in the heat. The service was prompt and friendly with very good English. The food was really good as well, lots to chose from and very clear what each dish was with photos to back up. We recommend this to everyone after a trip around the temple!

Came across this little gem when looking online for a ‘best lunch spots in Bangkok’ and we weren’t disappointed! Perfect location down by the river and opposite Wat Pho. You always know that somewhere has a good reputation when people are waiting outside for a table, despite many other places to eat in close proximity, although we didn’t have to wait for long. Cute little place with only a handful of tables, beautiful interior and well priced, great food. We had peach and mango soda, shrimp cakes, spring rolls, prawn green curry and chicken with cashew nuts, all for 515 baht! Left feeling very full!

This quirky little restaurant down a quiet alley punches well above its weight, from the minute you open the door with the shiney skull doorknob you know you're in for something very special. It's the attention to detail in everything from the eclectic decor adjourning the walls to menu presentation.... The tofu dish with smoked crispy bacon, chilli and spring onions was a fusion to behold.. but this was just one of many culinary delights that we devoured before our flight out.... By far the best restaurant we ate at in out 15 day jaunt to the land of smiles.. A credit to the owners who's Love of this place shows in abundance !!! Cheers Dragon
