I've eaten at Singapore, but coming to Xinyi to where it all began was a different experience. The taste is excellent and well worth the 1 hour queue.

We've been to Din Tai Fung in Singapore many times but never to the origin of this restaurant. We've finally tried it this time and it was awesome! We were prepared to queue after hearing about how famously crowded this place can be. But we were there around 3pm and only waited for less than 5 minutes before we were... More

It's about the best steamed dumpling I ever had! It is quite popular among the Japanese tourist so the wait staff usually speaks Japanese. Along with the steamed dumplings, try the bamboo salad. It's so sweet with the mayo. I love the hot and sour soup. It's very authentic and not like the once we get in NY. Every time... More

What do you think about Chinese Food? What about dumplings? About Xiao Long Bao? We visited this famous place to enjoy a typical light meal, and ended up with very full stomach! So delicious! A very busy place, you have to queue at entrance, but then everything suddenly gets fast, you get your table, and get your food, one by... More

We've been to Din Tai Fung several times before, but never this, so-called originally HQ according to the locals, so we decided to go there one afternoon - this is importantly as during lunch & dinner hours, we've been told it could be extraordinarily busy - like queuing up for upto an hour or more! Well, we arrived there on... More

Always come to this branch whenever I come to Taipei. I tried both xin yi and 101, still feel xinyi food tasted better. The dumpling, side dish, etc all good. Price is reasonable too.

This restaurant service cannot be compared to 101 Building. Servers here are not as attentive as the one at 101. At 101, the servers will explain to you and even assist every table for the soy sauce and vinegar mix. But not at the main branch. Also, please take note, this branch only accepts cash ! It's not expensive but... More

By far, the best xiaolongbao I have ever tasted. Take the MRT to Dongmen station and exit Yongkang Street sign. You just need to walk 1 minute to where the crowd is. Recommend you go before 11 am or between 4-5 pm to avoid the crazy crowd. Once you are seated, the food serves pretty fast.

We ordered the staple foods (xiaolongbao and other dumplings) but were not knocked off our feet by the food. Perhaps try Gaoji instead.

If you want traditional Chinese style dumplings this is a great choice. You can even watch them make the goodies, so precise and professional. Service is top notch and I've eaten there six or seven times, never disappointed.

Thank Eric S
