We had researched restaurants before our trip and Din Tai Fung was highly rated.  It is a chain, with restaurants throughout Asia.  Its Hong Kong branch has been awarded one Michelin star, the chain ranks high on lists of the best restaurants in Asia.    It specializes in xiaolongbao, soup dumplings filled with a variety of ingredients.  We expected there... Must visit when in town. I love the steaming hot dumplings. Tastes pretty good with a decent pricing

The queue was long but moved along pretty fast. The food is good, as with all Din Tai Fung outlets every where. The service was good. My friend's mom had difficulty going up the stairs, so the staff moved us down one level.

Long lines but the estimated wait time they provide is pretty accurate. Our wait was about 70 minutes so we just walked around the neighborhood for a while and came back when it was time. Food was good and the service is excellent. This place is so clean, I don't even wipe off the utensils prior to use. Expensive but... More

I have read about the long queues at this renown restaurant so I have decided to drop by on a weekday at 3pm. There were minimal crowd at that hour which made our dining experience very comfortable. Food served was great, but what made the experience greater was the positive and warm hospitality provided by the staffs. Big ups to... More

Had to wait 40 mins to go in but it was worth every minute. Food best of all din tai fungs I'd been to, service fantastic and the chocolate xiao long bau a surprising treat!

Be prepared to wait in a long queue if you are going for this flagship restaurant all over the world, however also its lousy food. The xiaolongbao taste is lousier than average food stall anywhere in Shanghai. The service of waiters, however, is up to standard by Taiwanese level.

I am usually skeptical towards mainstream tourist destinations, "must-try" restaurants, etc., but in this case I have to say that I am happy that I decide to go. The food is really remarkable. Not only the dumplings, which are their specialty, but also the soups and all the side dishes that I tried were very good. Expect to queue for... More

Came here for lunch at noon on a Sunday. There was already a large crowd outside but the waiting was surprisingly much shorter than expected: about 20-25min, from the time we got a queue number and started filling in our order. The form comes in English only for non-mandarin speakers. We were seated with other diners on their third level... More

As many reviewers have already said, most famous restaurant for steamed dumplings. There are many other places that serve the same thing in Taipei but obviously the shao long bao served here was more sophisticated. We went at around 2pm on saturday and were told the waiting time was one hour. They give you a numbered ticket and a order... More
