On our return to Kathmandu after 3 weeks trekking my brother and I decided to celebrate with a 'special' meal at this seemingly 'upmarket' and expensive restaurant where we ordered steaks. The meal was shockingly bad. The small meal was served almost cold with the...few vegetables raw. The steaks were dressed (disguised) in a very hot (spicy) 'gravy' and were so tough as to be almost inedible. A complaint to the staff was greeted with shrugged shoulders. A case of all that glitters is definitely not gold. There is a small pittzeria on the roadway at the entrance - which I understand is part of Gokarna. The pittzas here are very good as is the icecream. But the Gokarna restaurant itself is a disaster. We found the food at the tekkiing guest houses to be far superior.More

Last week on 27 February 2020, there was wedding ceremony of my sister in Law Mrs. Alisa Bajracharya. Morning breakfast quality of puri was too oily and there was not enough puri after guest number reaches 20. Expected guest to attain breakfast was 45. During...afternoon snack Fish was worst than footpath stick food, potato was too oily and choila taste like raw (Bassi). expected guest was 250 and 120 guest from groom side and 30 guest from bride side had completed the dinner by 5:30 pm but there were around 50 guests from bride side were left to have a dinner. This guest was main relative of bride. They were supposing to have dinner after alisa was send with janti. But when relatives wanted to have a dinner, most of the item was out of stock like: Naan, rice, papad, daal, Russian salad, buff meat etc. taste of rice fish and Russian salad was worst. Paapad was also too oily. For all this we need to pay NRs. 1300 per plate.More

Apart from local and multi-national dishes, they also have a wood fired pizza oven offering gorgeous pizza's at low prices. We were given a table close to the stage so we could enjoy the traditional dances being held during the evening. This was very enjoyable...and pleasant to have in the background whilst enjoying a drink and a meal. Total cost of two pizza’ & beers, along with local Raksi came to well under £20, which considering the venue, entertainment, quality of food & beer was extremely good value in our opinion. Second visit we sat at an outside table to enjoy the music, but to eat under the stars. Very nice.More

A great place to experience a traditional Nepali dinner (with traditional rice wine) and an interesting floor show of traditional dances & performances. Actually worth going just to people watch the other tourists, but very good food and excellent service.

I just wanted to express my thanks. I had a great evening. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the wonderful Reshma Tamang who had a beeming smile and was very polite and well organised. Reshma looked after me all evening and was...very attentive. The food was of amazing quality. It started with popcorn!. Then momo, potatoe wedges and beans, followed by soup, then a nice Dal Baht which included chicken curry, battered fish, lentil soup and pickles/spinach and chilli sauce. The obligatory 2nd helpings were offered and greatly received. The meal was topped of with a nice yogurt. They also give you some home made schnapps type drink of which I had too many. The dancer's were also great and enjoyable to watch. The mangers were also present and were courteous and friendly. Be sure to try this place out. One of the best Dal Bahts I have had, and I've had quite a few over the times. Many thanks and keep up the great work.More
