DAL BHAT NEPALI KITCHEN, Kathmandu

I think this is Nepali food for the tourist palate. I was so looking forward to dal and rice. The dal was watery and had about 10 lentils in it. Even though we were staying nearby for seven nights, we did not go back.

Tasty Nepali Food

We spotted this place close to our hotel and decided to give it a try as it looked like straightforward Nepali food. Everything we had was very tasty, the service was friendly and efficient, and the prices low. I think they may have changed the...menu a little since we were there - I'm sure my wife had a liver dish and I had something with flattened rice (which wasn't such a good idea given my poor teeth), but the food was tasty nonetheless.More

Traditional Nepalese food

Traditional Nepalese food at very reasonable price. We tried the vegetarian Dal Bhat set and loved it. They offer moong Daal, rice, spinach saag, cauliflower subji and salad etc Best part is pure desi ghee (original clarified butter) dressing and unlimited top ups. Simple and Good

A simple but really good place to get a quick meal. With a name like that I just had to get Dal Bhat and I chose the vegetarian version. When the food first came it seemed a rather small serving, but the staff offers you...refills of everything during the meal an I ended up totally stuffed. It was so good and not very pricey. The dal bhat and a coke ended up costing me 330 rupees, which is a bit under 3 euros.More

Truly Fresh Yummy Dishes at Very Best Nepali Kitchen in Thamel

Right near to LOD (Lord of Drinks) Club and GAJU Suites Hotel, you find DAL BHAT with Truly Fresh Yummy Dishes. Great ambiance and amazing Hospitality. Takali Lunch was really delicious. Chicken Fried Momo was one of the best. Chicken Chilly (both boneless & with...bone) were tasty. All waiters served the Food with smiling face. Prices were reasonable. Delicious momos!!

We stopped off here for a quick beer - and decided to try the momos. We ordered veggie momos and were delighted! Delicious and accompanied by a fiery sauce which had us in raptures. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stop, watching the world go by...on Lazimpat.More

Good dal bhat

A nice restaurant in Thamel but a little out of a way from the busy street. Their dal bhat was so delicious, and the servers kept asking if I wanted more of anything and would give me refills. A lot of vegetarian options. The prices...are not the cheapest but still very affordableMore

Traditional food served well!

The food we got served was delicious. Loved the way they served it so well in the traditional utensils. Staff was very hospitable. Good food with nice ambience at a sober rate. A place worth going to!

A good introduction to Nepali food

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. They have various menus to allow diners to try different types of Nepali food. Pert ay through our meal the electricity failed (not an unusual happening) and we were immediately provided with a candle and one of the...waiters used the light on his phone.More
