Small little restaurant with not much of an atmosphere, but amazing food- ema-datshi, cheese momos, chicken momos, and some honey ginger tea to wash it all down. SImple food, light on the stomach and the pocket.

Good place for momos in the main thoroughfare. Their thupkas need to be improved. They use tinned mushrooms ... although fresh ones are available in the market nearby. I hope they do avoid doing that.

Many people recommend Zombala when I mention best momo in town. I ordered Beef and Pork momo to-go. 140 Ngultrum for both and 5 pieces per order. They had only Pork, Beef and Cheese Momo on the day,,, what a pity, I wanted to try veggie momo honestly but beef and pork momo were tasty. I wish I could try... More

WE had lunch one of the days. This is a small little place in the City Centre. It serves Chinese, Tibet, Bhutanese and other food. The choice of food is good and the place is maintained well. The rates are very reasonable.

We came here our first day in Bhutan. We wanted to have the pork momos but they were out of meat so we settled for cheese momos. They turned out to be quite delightful. We had some local noodle soup which absolutely wonderful. Stop by here when in thimpu.

One of the best places to eat Bhutanese cuisine in Thimpu. The Ema Datchi was an absolute delight !!!

Small place and crowded with locals. Cheese cabbage dumplings and fried noodles are nice! Goes very well with the chili! The beef momo a little dry for my taste

Yes well by now everyone has been in Bhutan; everything that is kind of nice has been praised; and now is the time for backlash. I.e., you have the normal Indian and Bangladeshi tourists who come here with their special agenda and their sense of what is good (they usually have their exoticism at home and don't get why Western... Took my family there after reading the glowing reviews on TA. However, the momos were rather disappointing and the place had a off-putting smell. Service was super quick and the waitresses were polite. Zombala seems really popular with the locals and we saw quite a few people waiting to get a seat.

This place is quite popular with locals and you will see all tables occupied by Bhutanese people trying Momo and Koka. Momos are certainly good but we found that there were better options available in Thimphu. Kunga restaurant right next to Clock Tower serves awesome momo. You may try both these restaurant and decide by yourself. Menu is quite limited... More
