Absolutely amazing! We reserved a table for two and Hanif (owner) had kindly arranged a one of a kind experience for the two of us! He and Mac (Head Chef from Japan with fantastic tableside service) presented us with incredible dishes which never seemed to...end - from sushi platters, to teriyaki chicken dishes, deep fried tofu tamakis, MULBERRY CHEESECAKE 😍, tiramisu, tofu salads, sake, wine and more! Every dish was presented beautifully and was out of this world delicious. Customer service was flawless, from the moment we arrived until the moment we said goodnight. Yujos is more than a restaurant, it is an experience 🥂🙌🏽 5/5 stars, and THANK YOU to Chef Mac, Hanif and the rest of the team at Yujos!More

This was our go-to Japanese spot, the presentation is beautiful and the food is great. However, the service is always poor and last time they made a huge mistake on a very very clearly explained dietary requirement. This resulted in a lot of upset and...their only comeback was to offer a free scoop of ice cream. We will not visit again.More

I had dinner at Yuji Izakaya during my most recent business trip to Kampala. The compound has a lovely store with food and drink items from Japan, creative and innovative crafts made in Uganda, a space where you can gaze and shop (!) beautiful pieces...by talented Ugandan artists. The restaurant is a fusion of Asian and African aesthetics. I had Sushi and dumplings, which were extremely good!!! Really impressed with the quality! Staff were all very friendly and attentive, and service was prompt. Look forward to my next trip to Kampala - definitely going to Yujo Izakaya again!More

We had a great valentine dinner at Yujo! Both the service as well as the food was excellent! I was suprised to find such fresh ingredients in Kampala. I liked the dressing on the coleslaw salad that was perfectly balanced. Would definitely recommend the black...dragon roll. Thanks for the great time!More

We visited this place coming back after 5 years, and it is still the best food and good beer they always had. We ordered the salmon salad with orange and avocado, Dumplings, some sushi with mango and a sort of crispy maki. All very tasty...and really a taste experience. We where a little late in, but they where kind enough to stay open to serve us and wait for us to finish.More

When you are looking for Oriental cuisine in Kampala this is a very good option. The food is served just right and the portions are generous. Although its Japanese there is something in the menu for seafood lovers, vegetarians, poultry fanatics and die hard meat...fans. The sushi is divine and the meals are best served with sake or green tea. Try it out - its also got a spacious venue for family, friendly or corporate gatherings.More

Service from the 2 waitresses managing lunch service was poor, they looked like they didn’t want to be there! We had to wave them over to remind them there that we were not there for a free meal but were indeed paying customers. To make...matters worse, they served all other customers promptly and with a smile...I am trying not to draw inferences here but could it be because we were the only black women in the restaurant at the time? To add insult to injury, we were happily enjoying our chicken teriyaki when we noticed raw pieces. We quickly called the waitress over who said she would call the chef over to ‘witness’ the mistake....it took almost 30min for the chef to arrive and check the raw chicken...at this point we were sat there waiting on him as we could not continue to eat food we now knew to have raw bits in it. Chef finally came and I am happy to say acknowledged the error and offered to make the meal for me again. At this point, my friends had given up on eating anything else and declined to have a fresh order. I also need to point out that the chef gave one of my friends the meal on the house which gave him points in my book. All in all, service was very very poor and watch out for uncooked food (other than the fish of course!)More

Savinien san! Thanks for your visit. We've evolved away from a traditional Izakaya style restaurant over the years, but it's important to experience many small dishes like you have done whenever possible. To get a change to taste a variety of what we have to...More

We’ve eaten here several times whenever we’re in Kampala. It’s a great sushi option. You’ll be warmly welcomed by the staff the moment you enter. My husband and I usually get a few platters to share and we always leave full. The gyoza is great...too. The bonus is they have their own microbrew on site, so you also get to enjoy some nicer local brews. Ask for the beer flight!More
