Right from the time you enter the restaurant to having your order taken, the Cafe Javas waitresses and waiters are very warm and receptive (You get the home away from home feeling). The menu has packages for the kids and adults, breakfast and lunch and they- the meals are delicious and more than enough for what you pay for. Make your way or place for a delivery 😉

I met a friend in the cafe at Lugogo Mall, and took in a part of Kampala I hadn’t seen before. Young people dressed to the nines paying premium prices for creative coffee, tea and juice drinks, buzzing in conversations, crammed into a pleasant outdoor space screened by plants and cooled by water mist. Once you get a table they let you stay there forever. They have food too. Worth a visit.

This is my second time to review this place. These have the best customer service in the restaurant industry in Uganda. The food is the same in all their outlets so you do not get different tastes. They are always having amazing offers on special food days. A good place for a quick fast food with great interiors. Highly recommend on a visit to kampala.

So I’m a frequent client or cafe Javas and I’ve pretty much tasted everything on their menu. Today I was very disappointed in the Plantain. It was burnt, tasted like coal, and was aerated. Because I’m a frequent client, I called to notify them to try and do better next time. I was taken through the protocol and finally the branch manager gave me a call. To my surprise, he was unwilling to hear my complaint and defended the charcoal burnt plantain saying “ma’am that is our usual quality, next time when ordering please specify if you want medium, rare or well done gonja!” So the Kamwookya branch manager seems to think Gonja and Steak are cooked and ordered the same way... or perhaps he was just trying to throw around some fancy words to make me submit and accept the poor quality food. Javas standards have dropped, and they seem not to care much what the clients say. I guess they feel like they have dominated the market and therefore don’t need to impress us anymore. But to pay for inedible burnt charcoal Plantain and not get so much as an apology from management is just appalling!

We spent at least $200USD there per week. Then, we ordered a pasta meal and asked for an extra side of pasta. We were told that the price for a side pasta is the same price as the meal ($15USD). Yes, for a SIDE of only more of the plain pasta in addition to the other $50USD items in our order. It was the Lugogo branch. Also, we've been told that syrup does not come with waffles (even after I said that I would PAY for the syrup). Bad service and will not recommend.

I really don't know what do they do with their food, but some kind of soda is added to the food so you feel full faster... The portions are not that big, I can eat 2 burgers at any other place but Javas adds some kind of soda so you can't even finish the fries that came with the burger.. It's a trick with all their food.. Taste is okay but this trick is a big off...

Cafe Javas is spot on. Efficiency & professional touch. Very receptive, high class customer care. Many restaurants in Kampala will have to close as long as Cafe Javas is in existence. Classy interior & exterior decor.

Four of us on a two week mission trip wanted to get a meal like we could get at home. We hit a grand slam here at Cafe Java, I had steak and cheese w/ fries that was fantastic, my wife had a club sandwich with a side salad aand she was in heaven. My friend Helen had a pasta dish that she said needed more cheese but it was still very good. I have been to Uganda four times and I have been to Cafe Java five times!!! Great place, great food, great service and free WiFi 🤗

Seems like every trip to Kampala I end up here at least once. I had the double burger with fries; the food was tasty and the portion was plentiful. Service was attentive though not much friendly (this may be cultural). I'll definitely be back, and I definitely recommend this place.

This is an American style coffee stop that also serves full meals. Frequented by tourists and local professionals. The food is great and you can get a decent cheeseburger. Watch what you order because the servings are big. My appetizer was enough for dinner. Very good service also. Friendly staff. Ate here 3 times during our stay.

It is always warm to come back home to Uganda. Cafe Javas makes the whole experience even much warmer. The service of smiling faces like Shira is indescribable. Such as her make the sumptuous meal and the cool designed drinks even sweeter. Thank you CJs and thank you Shira in particular.

As an overseas visitor I enjoyed this location as very welcoming & safe with familiar food with special flare. The service was incredibly warm and professional. I have been to high end restaurants in the States with less care for their patrons. Any need was chased down very quickly. The menu is broad with good burgers, pasta, and fresh juice options. The mock mojitos are quite good.

I’ve visited Cafe Javas a number of times in a number of locations in Kampala and I am always disappointed. Today I gave CJ’s at Lugogo Mall a chance. The food felt like it had been pre cooked and warmed up. I had the Chicken Alfredo and it looked much nicer on the menu than when it arrived. The chicken was just placed on top of the pasta, it didn’t look great or taste it either. The garlic bread was stale and again felt like it had been pre-cooked. It also didn’t taste of garlic. The kiwi iced tea wasn’t bad though. CJ’s saving grace. However, I think my time of giving these guys the benefit of the doubt are done!
