Went here for lunch one day and had the buffet. Good mix of food and it was quite tasty, and not very expensive for the variety. There were both vegetarian and vegan options

One of the very rare places in kampala offering fresh made samosa even at 7 pm evening. Please try it if you do not believe me.

Cheap, quick and with character. This Hare Krishna place hasn't changed since I was first in Uganda 15 years ago. The food is South Indian comes quick and tastes great. Nice old school atmosphere and next to the National theatre. Worth a visit.

The best place for veggie and budget food. The quality of food is good and is pure veg. Eat as much as you can for a budget price. Worth a try.

We went for a quick lunch in town and was told by a friend about Govinda and we hence went, we were offered a buffet and the food was great... It had lot of options and we loved it. Only thing it was over priced. We shall come back.... Reduce the price.

I am from India. This place serves home-made vegetarian food that took me back. And the prices are excellent compared to some of the more expensive Indian fare in Kampala. One thing though: Do not order the masala chai (spice tea) - it was the least authentic thing we had that night. It was rather African tea with lots of... More

The place itself is rather odd, good for lunch, not suitable for a dinner party. Service is terrible, the Krishna people are lovely, but it's the local staff which can't be bothered to serve you. Food is really good and cheap. I used to eat there daily when staying nearby and would go back again. Especially great for vegetarians.

But it's not. The food is prepared according to Hare Krishna dietary rules, which means no onions, garlic, spices, etc. So if you want Indian-ish food without any of the things that make Indian food delicious, then this place may be for you. It's a cheap place, and when I visited, one of the practitioners sitting nearby was continually coughing.... More
