My favourite restaurant in Dakar!

This cosy restaurant offers a great variety of West African delicacies, including a range of vegetarian plates. The food tastes delicious and the portions are huge. Plus, it's absolutely affordable, the quality-price ratio is great. I had a really nice time at the restaurant, the service was amazing, the people really friendly and they were super helpful with giving recommendations. I can only recommand this restaurant and I'm pretty sure that I'll be going back soon :)

2 Thursdays ago I ordered the dish of the day a royal couscous at 5700 F. I sewed it was good but certainly not royal... Little meat, a meagre merguez and turnips in mess.. I had been used to better.. The semolina was excellent (!)

Allow yourself to fall in love

My coolleagues and I were desperately looking to try the dish from this beautiful country (the Dchebou djen - not sure if the spelling is correct) But we were really mind blown, it was tasty and one plate is enough for two. I also did not have a number and the service allowed me to use their phone. the place is so nice and allows you to meet other people while you eat, such an African feel, it is like a little house or dining room. A must go

One of my best places to eat local dishes (rice based). Plus the serve the African-way: generously! So if you want to taste rice and fish, mafé, ... Loutcha is the place to be.

Came here while in Dakar with my wife and daughter. Overall good meal and would recommend the place for anyone looking for some local food. Pros: good food and reasonable prices Cons: went there in the evening once they opened up for dinner at 7:00pm. There was no lighting in the entire place save for candles at each table. This made for an interesting experience to say the least. Next, I nearly locked myself in the bathroom which also had no light, as I was unable to find the latch on the lock for a few minutes. So if heading here maybe try for lunch while it’s still light outside

Local food for unbeatable prices

We wanted to taste some local food on our only free night in Dakar and this place came highly recommended. It has a lovely family feel with a diverse mix of people and an incredibly vast menu (nothing they don’t have, really) for unbeatable prices. The choice is huge and so are the portions. I had a whole fish grilled and served in some local way on manioc with fresh chopped veggies and it was very nice but far too much. No matter how much I ate, the plate still looked full. My colleague had jollof rice with veggies and fish which was also very good. The red wine we had wasn’t great and the waitress was a bit impatient with us but we had a nice evening and are glad we went there.
