Wonderful place , staff , food and ambience totally different from most places in Kigali. The food arrived in less than 20minutes (never happens in other restaurants in Rwanda) I was overjoyed. My waiter was Patrick wonder gentleman who kept happy while I was waiting for my friend to arrive he spoke both good English and swahili so we could communicate well. Set up is very chilled and welcoming with some tunes playing. I went for lunch so I tried the famous avocado fries, we had tempura as a biting and my main was pork chop with coconut ginger sauce.... delicious and fries with vegetables. My friend had goat meat, mashed potatoes with some mushroom sauce. Their food was amazing I don’t know why it took me so long to go there as I only went before my flight out of Kigali. Would definitely recommend it to all.

The cuisine is really tasty and copious at affordable price (10-20 USD) and the staff is pro, with timely order taking and good service. We enjoyed being served by Ange and her colleagues today.
And all the staff eventually came to wish our friend a happy birthday. Nice special touch.

As usual I always do trip advisor check before doing anything on my trips and I checked this restaurant out and I must say it deserves the #1 spot. We came and spoke to the head chef Sajith 2 days before our proposed dinner for a 40th birthday, and he was most welcoming. He created a new dinner menu for our guest and took all our reservations on board without hesitation. We came on New Year’s Eve for our dinner and it was just as planned and very welcoming. Francine (our head waiter) made sure we all had a good time and the cake cutting time was lovely with a lot of pans and pots banging lol. The food and drinks were cooked to perfection and tasted great.
Thank you Sajith for a lovely evening, looking forward to another visit next time we are in town

It was my first time to the Hut and it has been a great time.
Food is good and juice was sweety, nice view on Kigali, the service was great and Alphonsina our waitress was nice and helpful she has a good quality to serve and she is like a miracle.
i never seen a good waitress ever in other restaurant. Another good point was the waiting time which is very short compare to other places. Definitely recommend.

We were back to The Hut today after traveling a few months. What a welcome we received, and another great meal.
I am usually an unwaivering fan of the lamb kafka, but today I ventured out with the special of the black/white sesame crusted tilapia. It was fabulous. The sweet potato puree underneath was so tasty, and the chef kindly substituted the couscous for roasted veg for me. Delicious!!! and a healthy portion.
My hubby stuck with his standard order - the pork shoulder burger. Also a winner. And, the portions are large so we usually bring home a takeaway bag and have dinner. Their avocado fries are also a treat!
And, great service. And the chefs are incredibly accommodating to dietary needs.

Fantastic place. Can’t recommend enough. I went as part of a farewell lunch for a friend and colleague. The atmosphere (wood floor etc) is really welcoming and the food was excellent—portions are generous and quality high. I particularly recommend the smoked tofu and panacotta. But what was really extraordinary were the staff—so attentive, enormously helpful and going out of their way including by going and buying cupcakes as a surprise for my colleague and then coordinating to bring them at the right moment. This kind of warmth will keep customers returning. Congrats!

We are definitely biased, but this place is one of our very favorites in Kigali. Great service, Great food. Casual ambiance.
Yesterday we stopped in for a late lunch. I had the goat osso budo (I am NOT a goat lover but this one is terrific). My husband had the first tacos and avocado fries (both yummy!). We started by sharing a strawberry, apple blue cheese salad (fresh and crisp), and we ended with a chocolate brownie number with ice cream and whip.
Oh wow. We were so full - but we cleaned every morsel off of our plate.
We also appreciate that the chef will accommodate special requests if he knows in advance. A wonderful team. A wonderful place. Never disappointed.

Amazing food and ambiance, I had the creamy and crunchy avocado fries, sweet potato fries and French fries and lasagna and pork ribs 🤣 overkill. I was over stuff with many leftovers and everything tasted real good. Impeccable service by David and Joshua and make sure Alpha brings the bill

I'd normally be reluctant to bust out a full 5 stars. We've eaten at the best restaurants in Kigali. We review and rate them for fun normally. But praise is due here, all the food is exceptionally well prepared, textures correct and flawless. It was an eye-opener for us. The food was creative, service excellent, and overall a great dining experience. I was intrigued by the idea of modern concepts of international food and a celebration of internationalism. To the chef's credit, the flavor of every dish was spot on, even though they looked nothing like what they're called. We appreciated the effort put into all aspects of the meal. If you're in Kigali, you owe it to yourself to visit here... best of all, and the reason it's a 5* is that it was a good price also!! Would eat again, and might tomorrow! It's definitely a different experience from the usual food scene in Kigali, and A MUST VISIT.

We love The Hut! We've been regular guests there for more than 2 years - often going there weekly. Yesterday, we had another terrific lunch. I had the filet mignon with mash and spinach, and my husband had two starters for his meal - the avocado fries (incredibly yummy) and the fish tacos (fresh and tasty).
The wait staff at The Hut are pleasant and knowledgeable and helpful. The chef and kitchen staff go out of their way to accommodate special or dietary requests. And, the owner regularly makes the rounds of tables to check in on guests.
It's a great place for a small group of 2 people, and they also do a terrific job with large groups, and are great with families/kids. I arranged our office party there last November and they were fabulous.

Easily one of the very best meals I’ve had in Kigali! We enjoyed avocado fries, a couple of curry dishes, and a lamb burger. Everything was delicious. Our waitress Alphonsine was exceptional! Highly recommended

We were advised to check out this establishment last night after participating in CHOGM, and we absolutely adored it! Meanwhile, the setting and décor are completely amazing. It's just incredibly welcoming, and the ambiance and location were fantastic! Excellent service from a personnel that was well-organized. Shadrack, our waiter, was also very kind and attentive. We thought that he was the floor manager. That gentleman offered us various choices because one of our friends was a vegetarian. It was fantastic all night long.He made the whole experience memorable by being so cordial, considerate, and punctual. We began our meal with an appetizer of four different little dishes. They were all really good. Our main meal, which arrived in under 20 minutes, included lamp kofter, filet mignon, and a not-boiling veggie burger. So, given that it's a fantastic site to return to again,we heartily suggest the restaurant.

While we were in the hotel where we were staying in Kigali We visited this restaurant as a group of 10 last week to verify the accuracy of the information after reading several testimonials left by other users on this platform. Great hosts welcomed us and escorted us to the table we had requested. The setting and the well-organized staff really impressed us. The person who serviced us, Shadrack, is incredibly courteous and thoughtful in finding solutions to our issues. We were really happy to have him here. Service and food was prompt and extremely good. Despite the fact that we appeared to be a large group, no one had to get food late. We eagerly anticipate visiting this restaurant once more on our subsequent vacation and heartily recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Kigali.

Then there's the genuine friendliness of the personnel and the excellent meals. Schadrack was wonderful; he was attentive but not intrusive, and he patiently answered all of our inquiries. He welcomed us with warmth, politeness, and professionalism. We had a great time conversing with him both as we entered and as we waited for our cabs to return to our hotel. My T-Bone steak was well seasoned, cooked to perfection, and delivered with care. Despite the fact that we were a group of 15, everyone had a good time. My cocktail turned out to be exactly what I had hoped for. The ambience of this restaurant was fantastic. Local artwork is on exhibit and for sale, and there is an open seating area. This is a good place to eat at on a regular basis.

Had a wonderful dinner with 11 people overlooking the city. The food was excellent and Charles, our waiter, was knowledgeable and extremely helpful in providing recommendations for the group. From the basic burger and fries for the kids to more complex tastes of Rwandan staples everyone found something they really enjoyed.. Will definitely return.
