Nice facilities, kids play area, but average service and food

I take my family here often because it has a clean soft play area, clean swimming , and most importantly clean toilets. Food is okay, but bland and light on the vegetables. Service is very slow and sometimes the servers are rude, and the owners are always apologetic on behalf of the staff. It’s a bit pricey for the quality of food. Having said that will probably continue to visit because after Pujo eat and play closer their soft play, it is the only place in Abuja clean enough for my kids. It’s still cheaper than flying to Lagos, London, or Dubai for the weekend so it’s as good as it gets in Abuja for a family restaurant with an adequate soft play area. For food and service recommend any of the Dunes restaurants, but their play area is in the back and you can’t eat and let the kids play.

Great food, affordable prices, perfect location

Blu Cabana offers a wide variety of dishes (European, Lebanese, Indian, Italian and more) at very affordable prices. Mediterrean Chicken and pizzas are just declisious! The restaurant is modern, well maintained, very clean and has access to a great pool where you can order your food as well. Food comes out very fast (even during busy days) and the service is very good.

Spectacular Restaurant! 👍🏽

Blu Cabana's reputation precedes it! I've been hearing about this place for ages, but never had the opportunity to visit till now. It's located inside a big building- with a gorgeous, sprawling pool and lush greenery, plus a kids play area. A truly lovely sight to behold! The restaurant is casual, yet classy, all at the same time. The outdoor pool lends it a very cool, breezy and relaxed ambiance. Toilets are super clean. Our waiter was ABRAHAM OJIM. Abraham was very diligent and polite; a truly professional waiter. Thanks to him for being such a great host. We ordered Shrimp Balls, Shawarma Hummus, Shrimp Spring Rolls, Chicken Shawarma, Spicy Seafood Pasta and Mixed Grill. For drinks, we got the Sweet Sunrise. I give top marks to the hummus, shrimp spring rolls and shawarma. All were sinfully delicious, and cooked to perfection. The shrimp balls were just okay, as was the spicy pasta. I thought i'd see some type of pasta other than linguini. The whole dish just wasn't what I expected. My husband enjoyed his mixed grill. The mocktail was really good; refreshing and not too sweet. I'm glad to say that Blu Cabana has really lived up to the hype! This is a truly world-class restaurant for casual dining, and I'm very impressed by the food and service. The only criticism I would give Blu Cabana is that the food took forever to be served, even though we had told Abraham to bring the shrimp balls, hummus, spring rolls and shawarma as appetizers. We waited for what seemed like 30 minutes or more to receive the mocktails and any appetizer. I would also suggest they serve a complimentary snack, (like a basket of bread & butter, potato chips, etc). It just seems 'appropriate' for a place of this calibre. All in all, I enjoyed my experience at Blu Cabana Restaurant, and will most definitely look forward to returning very soon! Highly, highly recommended!!! 👍🏽

It takes more than a good cook and a nice layout

The positives: all food I tried so far was fresh, tasty and nicely decorated. The layout is pretty. The negatives: Customer orientation is limited. There seem to be 100 service personnel but no one keeps an eye out on customers. One has to wave, shout, knock on windows to get attention. A soft drink exploded in my colleague’s face (the can must have been dropped or shaken) and nobody bothered to come, let alone apologise or offer a new drink which should have been the minimum. The cappuccino is lousy (foamy, not creamy milk on top of a café au lait) far from Italian quality. Music too loud. No effort to go out of the way for clients’ needs. Please train your staff’s understanding of customer orientation, give them responsibility to take decisions and seek for out-of-the-box solutions if needed.

Good Food but the flies 🤨

A business meeting, planned to sit inside the restaurant but it was booked for a party so had to settle for outside. Mind you, Abuja is excruciatingly hot this time of the year, but it is what it is. Food was good, tasted delicious, came out on time and all. We had a babagnoush, a tender lion steak (imported) and a mixed grill. For drinks we had water and orange and ginger drink. The heat aside the ambience was very nice until the flies started congregating around our food. We tried to wave them away but it was an impossibility. Previously they had this trick using burnt coffee that chased all the flies. We requested for it but we were told management had banned the practice. However nothing was in place to deal with the flies. The flies are what stopped this place getting a full five rating. Next time maybe an evening visit?

Not the best value for money

We had mixed grill platter in addition to chicken taoux and beef Sharwama sandwiches. I feel we are basically paying for the A/C, the view of the swimming pool & palm trees. Beef Sharwama was good, but not as good as can be. The chicken taoux sandwich was a joke for the price. The mixed grill platter for N9200 was a huge waste of money. We were served what tasted like steamed raw meat with no seasoning or spices at all. It was easier to eat the grilled chicken from platter than the beef. The beef didn't look like it touched the grill. Yuk! Terrible food. Slow service before and after order yet they have many staff. Not the best value for my money. We spent 30k for 2 persons there, just to try several things and make sure we find something we liked that tastes good. We will never return. Thank you. Better to pay a little more & go to Bukka at transcorp Hilton.

Really wanted to like this but couldn't

I ordered food here while staying at the Nordic Hotel. Firstly, the order was wrong, secondly it was inedible. Chicken pepper soup was like boiled chicken stock with some herbs in it and not spicy at all. Jollof rice was wet and soggy , and chicken drumsticks looked like it had been fried and refried over again. Was such a waste of money and really angry at the state of the food. It is possible that Nigerian food is not their forte. Would be going out for food from hereon

Horrible service

Good looking place with horrible service! Service is very poor and not proactive at all. Not clearing the tables and if you like to order something, you really need to stand up and wave to get some attention! Food is okay, but also a bit up and down. Garlic bread made from a sliced burger bun it’s not really what I expected.

Not worth for money spent

I have been there three times and none of them were satisfying. Two of them were on sundays so I thought the low quality service and not delicious food were because of the crowd there. But the last time was also the same. I had chicken and it was not worthy for the money we paid and they served the food very late. Some of our friends waited so long while some started eating already. No way that i go to that place again!

Great food and palce but too dusty

I love the place and the food really perfect to my pallate. However, it was so dusty due to the weather condition and the road repairs. Perhaps you need to consider having dinner inside the restaurant , or costumer should have an options to be inside particulary those who have dust allergies, thus to enjoy the ambiance and food in general You can reflect and consider for improvement and health concious costumers.

I loved my experience @Blucabana. Great ambience, clear blue pool, great lighting. Captivating atmosphere The menu looks awesome with great tasting food....we were given different sauces with the order with palate-explosive experience!! I look forward to going back there again and again. I just wish the parking space would be increased, I forgive you though..hahaha

A relaxing place

Blue Cabana restaurant is a good restaurant with Nigerian and Lebanese food. It is a very relaxing place especially the pool side bar in the evening has a very good ambience. There is also and in door restaurant. The gym over looking the pool is a also a great place to work out in the evening. The food is average and the waiters are very friendly. There is ample parking.

If you are on your way to Life Camp, Blucabana is located in Mabushi District, on the road between Setraco Head office and Next Supermarket

My go to place to have a good conversation & cozy lunch/dinner. Nice atmosphere, good food, courteous staff, and decent price. They also have a pool great for kids & adults as well a trainer, love it.
