Recommended in Lonely Planet as a decent place for lunch in Port Louis, this is a reasonably priced Chinese restaurant with some interesting Mauritian influenced spins on popular classics. Don't let the dingy doorway put you off.

There are blogs on this restaurant and many Internet articles suggesting it's the best yum cha in town ...... gosh you have to be kidding me?!?! Anyway it's a bit unfair for me as this has been the only chinese restaurant I've eaten at on the island of mauritius. I guess it could be the best in mauritius but when... More

I was recommended this place for its peking duck & pancakes...which were ok. I'd personally like to see the skin crisper. The meat was tender though! Also ordered the sweet & sour fish, fried rice noodles, and a stir fried veggie. All vet average and won't return. All up Rs 2000 for two ppl. We got there at 8.45pm and... More

Went for Dim Sum after reading good reviews. Arrived approx 12.45pm on Sunday 20 September 2015 and were told to go to a seperate table and make selection from trolley. There was only 5 selections including chicken feet, left the chicken feet and took the remaining 4 options thinking they would be adding more selections to trolley while we were... More

Have known First for many many years, and it has had its ups and downs. At the moment it is definitely an "up" time. The duck with pancakes was very good, so was the boiled chicken and the fried calamari (fresh now as it's seasonal in Mauritius, so very tender and tasty at the moment). We had a couple of... More

This was difficult to find as it appeared to me to be not much more than a small doorway between crowded market stalls either side and on the pavement. Once upstairs and in the main restaurant, there was an authentic feel to the place. Ordering dim sum, we were taken to a separate table and shown the dishes. Again, I... More

Amazing restaurant with great employees. As I and my friends came in, the servers greeted us with respect, not like Grand Canton restaurant- totally no manners. The food was excellent, try the Peking duck, so delicious and not overpriced as compare to Grand Canton Restaurant, super pricy. The only drawback is the parking during the daytime, but night time- it's... More
