Very nice food as usual, but the menu remains same, they should try a tasting menu and keep adding something new which should also be pointed to the guests like in Europe ‘Today’s Special’ or something like that, regular gets boring.
Just a solo visit, the steamed shrimp dumplings to start were excellent, unusually served with a mustard sauce, but it worked, followed with grilled prawns, rather overcooked, unfortunately, with some rather tasteless tartar sauce, and a very pleasant cauliflower gratin, but my main criticism is...that they still serve bottled water from Italy, ridiculous in this era of global warming, and totally unnecessary when there are plenty of local options.More
Good dinner in general.
Definitely they must to remove from the menu appetizer of grilled oyster mushrooms which made a very bad impression and taste.
A quality restaurant cannot present such a dish. I was left desolate.
For the rest the staff very good and...good Italian wine.More
Polo Club is open again - with clever table arrangements to ensure social distancing.
My lovely husband wanted to spoil me with a Mother's Day lunch and selected PoloClubRestaurant. Other than the waitron staff wishing me a happy Mother's Day, Polo Club Restaurant had nothing...specialism place regarding Mother's Day.
We ordered Skewers for starters, and Sushi and Veal as our mains, followed by Sorbet for dessert.
According to my husband, the Sushi was excellent. The Veal was alright, but really, really, needed to be served with a sauce choice The lack of a sauce choice is why I cannot give Polo Club Restaurant 5 stars.
Would we go again? Definitely, however, I will take more care regarding my meal choice.More
A very nice place to visit for Lunch, dinner or a drink near Accra International Airport. Situated by the Polo grounds yet within 10-15 minutes of Central Accra this is a nice Oasis. I have been visiting it for several years during my short trips...to Accra and it seems to have maintained its standards. We were there last week with friends and the quality did not disappoint. The Menu has added a few Asian favourites but the Wine list did not demonstrate value for money. I would still recommend the Restaurant and maybe have the local Beer (CLUB) instead.More
Most impressed by my first visit, it certainly won't be my last, everything was excellent, superb, very friendly service from Jeff, a really good and knowledgeable waiter, food was praiseworthy, shrimp and avocado cocktail to start, beautifully presented as a stack, followed by grilled prawns,...all washed down with a Boschendal Sauvignon Blanc 2018, their chocolate fondant was properly melting in the middle. The only negative was their bottled water, Acqua Panna in a glass bottle, all the way from Italy, a ridiculous contribution to climate change when there is excellent local bottled water, but shows the marketing power of Nestle.More
I always look forward to visiting the Poloclub when I am in Accra. My recent visit was another good experience. The Appetizers are just incredible, This time we ordered so much that unfortunately we had to skip our main meal and go directly to desserts....Here again the selection is good. We ordered the fruit sorbets
Overall great atmosphere with good food and serviceMore
