A very busy congested place for dinner you literally bang into others However it's very much recommended for local cuisine and cultural show and music Food serving is very adequate and reasonable priced

The location is very convenient but the food is not that good, the service is poor and the place gets really crowded. This is my third time dinning there and i always come out exasperated. There are way better cultural restaurants Serving fine local food and that have exciting local dance Shows in Addis like Checheho cultural restaurant, Addis Ababa Restaurant, Fendika....

The food is only decent in quality and it's definitely overpriced, but the quality is better than its competitors. Locals don't come here for the food -- there are many better restaurants in town. The dancing is fantastic -- a whole level above other food + dancing cultural restaurants in town. It's definitely a place you shouldn't miss during a short... More

Sure: if this is your first time in Ethiopia and others are paying: go. But there are many other places where the food is better. And the traditional dances are quite centered on amhara and guragigna, and not so much on the true diversity of Ethiopia. Plus the prices, this is overly expensive.

Your stay in Addis will not be complete without a visit to this place. Offers live traditional music and dance numbers that will surely liven up your evening and mesmerize your eyes. The dancers, singers and members are all experts in their craft. They know how to engage the crowd. If you want to try local food, enjoy some music,... More

A taxi driver recommended I visit Yod Abyssinia for an evening of local food and traditional music. I thought ho-hum and with nothing better to do made my way here. Wow! What a treat!!! Went back twice. Brilliant musicians and dancers, great food and service. Highly recommended!

The music was actually really great -- the dancers were amazing and it was a much better show then I expected. The food was good too. I know that something described as a "cultural restaurant" makes it seem like it's phoned in for tourists, but I was really impressed.

We ate lunch here and were quite impressed. The service was very good and the food was quite tasty. Beer was cold and the food was spicy. A good combination. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in a very traditional motif, food is served in traditional ways. I wish that the menu descriptions explained what the food was and... More

Yod is a good place to visit for traditional Ethiopian dances as well as a generous serving of native Ethiopian cuisine buffet style.
