It was a Saturday night, and we were not sure if we needed a reservation or not. We arrived around 6 PM, which was lucky for us as it is early enough to beat the dinner rush. We were lucky to get a table near...the stage, we ordered a large traditional combo platter, and also an order of Doro Wat. We were three people and we could not finish all this food. I also ordered a very small cup of traditional coffee, which came in the traditional ceremonial style with frankincense and a bowl of popcorn we tried the Tej (honey wine) it was great. There was amazing music and dancing, and I really loved how the dancers were interacting with the audience. The place got super packed. The price of the food here is quite expensive. Compared to other restaurants, however, for the ambience and the show we really enjoyed the experience.More

Way overrated, as to both food and entertainment. Also way overpriced. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable traditional experience.

It was the worst time I have ever seen worst service in hotel industry. I don’t know why Ethiopia tradition is represented by such normless so called traditional restaurants. The waiters are not welling to listen customer’s opinions and comments . That said “who care...“ ….More

We thoroughly enjoyed our night Yod Abyssinia! The entertainment was brilliant, as was the atmosphere. You felt you were getting a real taste (literally and figuratively!) of Ethiopian culture. The food was also delicious and the staff were friendly. We’d recommend a visit.

Great food and music. Gets progressively more interactive and energetic as the night goes on. Great every night except I was told that Wednesday and Friday are fasting days so it will not be as busy/lively.

It a pleasure attending an evening of local Ethiopian cuisine and entertainment - a truly memorable cultural evening of some great performances by traditional dancers well choreographed and interacting well with the audience.

Couldn't stomach the chicken and the beet tips were better suited for a dog than a human. That being said the entertainment was excellent with great ethnic music and dancing. The entertainers all really get the audience involved. I had some lentils ordered for me...and they were quite nice.More

The meal was really good I usually prefer to take my Indian friends who visit Addis to this place because this is a place where one can understand the deep culture of Addis and Ethiopia. The restaurant offers not only food but also a wonderful...memory. The performers make people dance and sing and most Ethiopian families gather here during the weekends. I suggest this place if you want to feel the vibe of local culture and delicious food.More

My favourite traditional restaurant, and the best place to learn about Ethiopian culture. Also the traditional dance performers are the best in Addis, always coming up with a different moves, I really like them. Aslo the Tej drink is awesome but the food isn't that...special, as of my test I guess, overall the place is perfect to go alone, with friends or any family members.More
