While in Addis Ababa for a month on business, our Ethiopian host took us to Yod Abyssinia for an evening of traditional Ethiopian food and dancing. It was a relaxing way to close out our time in Addis Ababa.
The restaurant is just outside the airport, we arrived here one time our flight was cancelled and we had to spend some hours in Addis. You can have a traditional Ethiopian meal (with njira etc.) while watching a traditional dance and music show. It is...very touristic, but still the food is good, the honey liquor, too and the show is interesting. All in all, a good address.More
This was recommended by business colleagues for evening entertainment and sampling the local culture - music, dance and food. Superb choice. It may sound a little touristy but excellently delivered. Traditional food was excellent - looked good and tasted wonderful. Lots of great flavours, spices...- meat and veggie dishes. You are encouraged to eat with your hands though cutlery is available. Staff are very attentive, including bringing fresh hot water to the table so that you can wash your hands. Music and dance on stage was very pleasant and made an excellent evening's entertainment. They do look for dance volunteers to join them on stage! Recommend the local red wine - very good.More

By the time you arrive it would be at least after 11pm so I would suggest don't go that late as the entertainment is winding down and may have ended. Local currency would be best but the place will take cards and dollars. Get there before 7pm on any evening if you can and enjoy the full experience.
