I went to the YOD Abyssinia. restaurant with a friend and my two of my younger sisters last night. The place is one of my best and most favorite spot in Addis. Of course most of my families have been dinning here for quite a long time as well - says something doesn't it? I promised the manager that I... More

What I thought would be a touristy place, turned out an amazing experience. And majority of the audience were not tourists. Very good food, fantastic friendly atmosphere, great exposure to the Ethiopian culture with amazing singers and dancers. Book your table ahead, else, you might not see the performance well whilst you enjoy your dinner.

Its about being entertained by tribal music and dances. Food is average Ethiopian fare. Try the coffee and a glas of honey wine.

Ethiopia airlines treated me and other passengers who had long transit at Addis Ababa at this great and expensive restaurant.. Not sure if this is the new name as we had been to Ambassador Cultural Restaurant.. Anyways it's a big restaurant with lot of cultural artefacts and live show.. though we did not see one that day.. Being a veg... More

The singers and dancers were amazing. Who knew you could move your shoulders the way those young men could? The costumes and dancers illustrated different parts of Ethiopia extremely well. Food buffet offered choice for all but I admit some things are an acquired taste.

As a cultural place to visit it is a must see. Definitely show is fabulous not only for tourists but for locals as well. From food persective it is average ok it is traditional but to rank it higher it will need some more innovative approach to it not just traditional and a full stop. So I should rank it... More

Yod Abyssinia has great local food and is worth visiting just for that. However on Friday (and possibly other) evenings they have a dance show where they exhibit an incredible range of dances from the different parts of the country. The brave can even join them on dancing. This is a 'must-visit' restaurant.

This place was amazing. We sat in front of the stage and enjoyed the traditional music and dancing. The whole place was buzzing with energy which seemed to generate from the musicians and dancers to all the guests. Then there was a dancer that started spinning her head soooo fast my eyes could not follow...this was incredible! The food was... More
