A taxi driver recommended I visit Yod Abyssinia for an evening of local food and traditional music. I thought ho-hum and with nothing better to do made my way here. Wow! What a treat!!! Went back twice. Brilliant musicians and dancers, great food and service. Highly recommended!

The music was actually really great -- the dancers were amazing and it was a much better show then I expected. The food was good too. I know that something described as a "cultural restaurant" makes it seem like it's phoned in for tourists, but I was really impressed.

We ate lunch here and were quite impressed. The service was very good and the food was quite tasty. Beer was cold and the food was spicy. A good combination. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in a very traditional motif, food is served in traditional ways. I wish that the menu descriptions explained what the food was and... More

Yod is a good place to visit for traditional Ethiopian dances as well as a generous serving of native Ethiopian cuisine buffet style.

Nothing prepares you for the foot tapping and stomping dances which follow one another on the stage The food is nice but the vegetarian options are extremely limited The ambience is great and the seating is ethnic and well done

Have eaten here several times now, and thoroughly enjoy it every time. It's best if you're able to stay for all of the dancing (I find it quite mesmerizing!) just beware you might just be encouraged to dance with them sometimes! (Obviously they won't force you to do so, but your friends will love taking photos/video...believe me ;) It's usually... More

We wanted to experience some Ethiopian culture so we were recommends to see the show at Yod Abyssinia. Entrance was free. The audience was a mix of local and tourists. The show was great. We really enjoyed the local music and dancing. I can't comment on the food as we only had drinks.

This place is for local first and for tourist after. All food is great, but very local style (spicy and special sour taste). Great show with music, dance and song. Very crowded and noisy, this place is a must if you like Ethiopian music and food. better to reserve if possible.
