You cannot say you visited Tunis if you don't try this gem in the Kasbah. Dar el Jeld, the "house of leather" is an ancient palace which offers you an amazing menu celebrating the best of Tunisian cusine. Impeccable presentation and amazing decor, this is a special restaurant, great for celebrations, a romantic dinner or for business lunches.

In this restaurant, you will find the best tunisian food in a classic place with original arabic and andalous music. You will never forget this place.

You will need to know the exact position of the restaurant on beforehand and knock on the door to get in. Extremely nice restaurant, although more expensive than the rest but still cheap. The... 30 December 2016. There were a lot of people although it was the night before new year's eve. Every thing was perfect, the atmosphere (décor, light, architecture), the service: discretion and effficiency; the meals: all perfectly cooked and tasty, traditional pastry and mint flavoured green tea... I'm hard to satisfy when it comes to gastronomy, yet i couldn't stop eating... More

One of the most beautiful restaurant settings I have ever been into in any country I have visited. The unique smell of the restaurant is one that I will carry forever. Service is impeccable, ambiance amazing. Food is delicious, and I would come again to Tunis to just visit Dar El Jeld again!

I cannot recommend more Dar El Jeld, a great restaurant hosted in a wonderful traditional palace in the Medina. We had both fish and meat, tajine and couscous, everything was delicious and tasty. The service is impeccable.

This is the place you are taken for a typical cuisine for a business meeting or other Couscous was divine and the mezze or Kemia before was succulent Walls and rooms are typical Tunisian ceramics and the architecture itself is to be seen Service was amazingly courteous and professional

Where to go to rub elbows. Incredible ambience. Magical tiles. The service is excellent. The fish couscous is the house specialty and is quite good. Very nice place when in the kasbah.
