We met J. Crispin manager of La Menora during our trip to Morocco Rabat. We had dinner twice there, good service and fantastic food. The restaurant has a nice set up. Highly recommended is the sword fish and the salmon fillet.

On our recent Moroccan tour, this was the first meal that we had and it was one of the best! Only about a block from the Le Diwan Hotel in Rabat. Five of us all had different things and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had...a lamb tagine that had a great sauce with raisins and almonds. It was terrific. Much better than the dull tangines that we got used to on the rest of the trip. Two others had fish (John Dory) and a lemon chicken tangine that they enjoyed and others had salads. They also offered beer and wine. Highly recommended.More

Went on a group dinner. The service was fast and the food was very good! All of us had a tajine (vegetable, beef, or chicken). The chicken fell right off the bone and had lots of flavor.More

Arrived a day early for tour and walked over from Le Diwan. Of course us hungry Americans were the first there when it opened at 7:00 (19:00). Beautiful interior with tile, plants and fountain. We found the prices very reasonable and food excellent. Split a...mixed hot “salads” - eggplant, peppers, fava beans, beets and olives (of course). Both had a lamb tajine with pistachios and for dessert mixed Moroccan pastries and flan. Not sure if they serve alcohol we just got water with gas (seltzer) and Coke Zero. Total bill with tip about 560 dhs ($56).More

This place was recommended by a junior front desk person at the Le Diwan because of its proximity and apparently good food. Either this person has never eaten here or does not know good food. The funniest part is that the entire bus load of...people we were on the trip with, eventually showed up at the same place. It felt like we were not only all traveling together all day, but now eating together as well on day 2! Arrived at sharp 7 for the scheduled appointment, however the menus took over 15 minutes to get to us. In a restaurant where we were the only people around, that was quite interesting start. Then ordering was a bit complicated but when the food arrived (I ordered chicken breast with mustard sauce) as did only of my travel mates; yet another ordered lamb kebabs. All the meat was overcooked to the point that I ate the sauce, but left the chicken intact after the first bite because I did not have utensils sharp enough to cut through the meat. I felt like the chicken and lamb were both so old, they might as well have been family heirlooms! Keep in mind the restaurant brings out olives and bread like all places in Morocco, however unlike the other places, they actually charge you for it although they never tell you that upfront. Clarify that before you eat it or ask them to take it away if you don’t want to pay for it! The final kicker was the in paying the bill. When we tried to pay by credit card we were told the internet connection was a problem and the card would not go through, yet, when we paid by debit card it worked like a charm! My recommendation is stay away from this place. Not worth the experience.More

We stopped by with friends for lunch. Tour guide recommended. Great local place. My wife had chicken skewers that were delicious. I had the lamb chops. Totally different than what you get in the USA. Okay, too much bone and fat with little lean meat....Our friends had the chicken and it was ok. It was a chicken thigh and leg. A chicken breast would have been more desirable. The provided appetizers and bread was a nice plus. Wine and beer reasonably priced. Atmosphere was quaint and very comfortable. Server was very friendly and efficient. Try it. Sure you will like the place.More

Recommended by our tour guide in Rabat and close to our hotel, 6 of us visited on a Thursday evening. Food was delicious...I had beef skewer tagine and meat cigars as an appetizer, both were flavorful and well prepared. Hubby's lamb he called a religious...experience, but he's a real foodie. Bread and small appetizer/olives served with dinner. Prices were reasonable. .. $415 DH for 2 with appetizer, entrees, drink and 1 decadent dessert. Lovely garden room with mosaic tiles and plenty of ambience. Lost 1 star for being out of several menu selections.More
