I ended up wondering through the streets of the medina and Dar Cherifa came as the highlight of my day. You will feel back to origins in this typical 16th century Dar. I haven't tried the food but I can tell you that just the atmosphere of the place is worths the visit.

Attended Dar cherfia for an evening meal and could not fault a single thing. The building itself is stunning and staff provide a bit of history about it. The food was lovely and the waiters were extremely attentive. After our meal we were invited up onto the roof which was equally beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

Not the easiest place to find (but where is in Marrakech) but well worth it when you do. Very tranquil in a beautiful old building which is claimed to be the oldest in Marrakech, with the staff very keen to give you the history of before you order. We ordered a late lunch of delicious Morrocan salad followed by a... More

Hidden in a dark back ally this was definitely a gem that I'm so happy to have experienced. The service was the best we've had in Morocco, the food was stellar (beef and kefta tagine with lentil soup as a starter) and the facilities were beautiful. We ended with a tea at the rooftop and enjoyed the view of the... More

Dar Cherifa, recommended in a design guidebook, did not let me down! The 15th century Riad was a feast for the eyes, beautiful details everywhere, looked more like a museum...a museum you can eat wonderful meals in!! The most stimulating and original meal I had in Morocco, loved the complimentary pickled vegetables, and the cucumber/orange juice, so refreshing! The staff... More

Fantastic food and atmosphere! Truly unique flavours and options on the menu were not available elsewhere in Marrakech to my knowledge. The staff were very friendly and our waiter Simo was especially helpful. A bit hard to find but there was a guide who met us at the closest street for cabs, so that was good. Great value for money,... More

A wonderful place to relax in the heart of the medina, in a extra-ordinary renovated riad. Food and drinks in the mids of an art house with paintings, or other artists which exhibit. We had the chance to see the work of Marrakesh artist Abdellatif Habib. Wonderful.

Description
Situated in the very heart of the souks, this building is a hidden secret, only found by the discerning and curious visitor, where history is recorded in the delicate tracery of the stucco and skilfully carved wood. In the year 2000 , Marrakech Riads, a leading player in the restoration of the riads of Marrakech, brought Dar Cherifa back to life, and simultaneously unveiled a hidden treasure of the medina, the refined decor of this building recalling that of the Medersa Ben Youssef, jewel of the Saadian era (16th century) and one of the finest monuments of Marrakech. Renovated with the greatest care and attention to detail, with the participation of renowned craftsmen so as to maintain its authenticity and splendour, Dar Cherifa welcomes all visitors eager to meet new and interesting people. It is a real cultural venue, hosting regular exhibitions, workshops, concerts and events. This inimitable space draws one into a meditative state of mind and heart. Everyone fortunate enough to visit this building says that they breathe an atmosphere of peace and serenity the minute they cross the threshold. The mention of Moroccan culture immediately implies Moroccan cuisine, and what more beguiling setting than this pure and refined interior for sampling a cuisine abounding in cultural exchange; a subtle blend of sweet and sour, the inheritance of Berber, Jewish and Arab-Andalucian influences. Enjoy!
