We thought we would never find the restaurant tucked away down a crowded and chaotic street, but once through the door we found a peaceful oasis around a central courtyard, tables on several levels - ours was at the very top, with spectacular views of Marrakech at sunset. The staff were very friendly and helpful (even though service involves climbing multiple flights of stairs...). The food was really good and very reasonable - I would definitely recommend the chicken Tagine and my family enjoyed the vegan burgers too.

Remarkable for the low-pressure ‘sell’ from its doorman, this venue sold itself to us when we stepped inside. The riad is equipped for dining on 3 floors, in traditional style with a modern twist. The rooftop terrace offers views of the mountains but is rather cool in January. There is an glazed area with heating, best for a cool evening. Menu offers a variety of local dishes or Italian pasta alternatives if desired. The beef & prune tagine was excellent, as was a chicken penne. Unpressured eating (at least in the off-Season) meant we could linger & chat.
Enjoyed it so much, came back the next night !
Finally, they take card payments so easy on the cash reserves.

We visited this restaurant on our last night In Marrakesh & has a fabulous evening to end our stay. The food was the best we had tasted during the trip and the staff were so friendly (especially Mohammed). If your looking for great food and a relaxed evening in a perfect setting, then this is the place to go. A wonderful memory to bring home.

The food was not so good. The least of the 6 restaurants we have been eating dinner during our stay. Prices where fine for a touristic place.
They serve alcohol but charge 60dh for flag speciale or a Glas of wine.
The servers were friendly and tried hard but they were not so experienced and very very slow because they were understaffed. So we had to wait for a long time for everything.
So if you prefer a nice location above quality of food this is your place to go.

A real hidden gem of my favourite street (zitoune souk), wonderful colonial architecture and a great roof terrace. A real mix of mezze and morrocan food (tagine naturally) but contrasted with French and Italian influences (spaghetti) as well as a vegan burger and quinoa. Moha served us well, you can also get a ‘drink’ if you ask. I liked their style!

Koulchi Zine is an absolutely amazing restaurant with fantastic food and scenery. We sat on the rooftop to eat a delicious dinner that was so nice, we came back for our final meal! They have some fantastic vegan options which I thoroughly enjoyed. My parter got the dish with the lamb shank and he loved it so much, he said it was the best lamb he had ever had! Thank you Koulchi Zine!

We loved this place so much we came back a second time at the end of our trip. We are both vegan and we’re really pleased to be able to have several options for our mains and even a choice of dessert. We really enjoyed the tagine option - (veggie balls in a rich tomato sauce). We received great service, the waiter even recognised us after several days and was very welcoming and seemed genuinely pleased to see us back!
The meal and drinks weee reasonably priced and the terrace was really nice - they even had a cooling mist which was welcomed in the afternoon heat!
With many thanks!

We were staying in an all inclusive hotel but decided to treat ourselves as the choice of vegan food at the hotel was limited. We sat on the rooftop section. We had 3 courses, all of the food was excellent and waiting on really made our night. The vegan chocolate mousse was delicious!

The staff here were incredibly helpful and accommodating with our group of 20 people and the space was beautiful. Unfortunately the food was pretty bland in a country full of spices and interesting flavor. Many dishes arrived cold. I would go back just for a coffee or tea on the terrace if I was in the area.

Hello Lisa, or rather henna by Kenzi
After eating in our restaurant with your group of 21 not 20 people I asked if it was ok, you replied "it's unbelievable" Unfortunately your comment on tripadvisor was inconsistent with what you told me and if you are ever in the area please don't Stop in for coffee or tea on our balcony, it's not for a trusted customer like you.

Of all the restaurants we have been to in Marrakesh, Koulchi Zine was one of the best with open space, panorama view, and, most important of all, delicious food. We had the seafood pastilla, chicken/beef tagine, and spring rolls, which came with lovely presentation and savoring flavors. The Beetles theme was a nice touch as well. This is a must-go restaurant if you are here in Marrakesh.

We had a wonderful evening here. The staff were really friendly and there is a really nice atmosphere. Our waiter Moha was fantastic, thank you for a lovely jubbly meal! We were really pleased with the vegetarian and vegan options here. The staff speak several languages, definitely French, English, Arabic, Berber and I think we heard Spanish and Italian too. The staff are happy to answer any questions you have about the menu. The quality for the food was brilliant. The vegan tagine balls and the vegan burger were handmade, no processed vegan substitutes. Would highly recommend.

We stumbled across this place while wandering through the medina - the upper deck was visible and it looked sunny & calm. We went in for a coffee and ended up having a late lunch. Good tasting Moroccan dishes and we ended up booking for New Years Eve a few nights later.
An interesting mix of Moroccan food with some modern influences. Very good staff with a high level of professionalism. Another big plus is they have someone down at the street level to take you upstairs but there was no harassing or trying to grab people to take them inside - more a matter of politely answering any questions yhat someone asked.
Highly recommended.

We came for lunch.
The rooftop terrace is pleasant but there are plenty of alternatives.
After a very long wait we were brought drinks
The food arrived and my husband’s order was incorrect.
My vegetable tagine was literally tasteless steamed vegetables with next to no seasoning.
I have never done this before, but we got up, paid and left without finishing.

After many weeks in Morocco and in particular in Marrakech I was fortunate to come across this beautiful restaurant that serves much more than food. The food is some of the best I’ve had here in Marrakech but the atmosphere and the staff are what makes it special. This is my third time here but definitely not my last. Ask for Moha, he will take care of you and make sure you have an evening and a meal to remember!

We had an excellent experience eating on the roof terrace at Koulchi Zine.
Having escaped the Sunday evening hustle and bustle of Jemaa el-Fna Square, we chanced upon this charming Riad (with its charming owner) and asked if the restaurant could accommodate us. The owner took us to the roof terrace, telling us his John Lennon story on the way.
We very much enjoyed our meal – and our tajines were amongst the best we had in all our time in Marrakech. The place was laid back and we relaxed. The servers did a really good job, especially in view of the number of times they had to run up and down the stairs with their hands full.
This place is very much recommended, and if ever we return to Marrakech we shall certainly return, and look forward to another chance of chatting to the owner.
