Our special occasion restaurant for the last few decades. Absolutely stunning interiors...you'll feel like a PASHA! Amazing food & ambiance. We were lucky to get in on this recent trip to Marrakech. The restaurant was booked for a French hardware convention tour group but they...let us have a table off to the side. A truly magical palace...More

Wow is what I said when I walked in. What a beautiful and spectacular restaurant! The traditional Moroccan food was the best I had during my 10 days in Morocco. The music and belly dancing was first rate and the service was excellent. What a...great way to end our trip to Morocco.More

We ended a 9 day guided tour of Morocco in Marrakech and this was the location for the final night farewell dinner. This is a 16th former home of the then Mayor. It blows you away. The food was your typical Tagine, Moroccon salads and...nothing special. We had a fish Tagine. The white fish was so over cooked it was mushy. They’d be better off just charging admission to view the interiors, not eat the food. Musicians played through most of the evenings and were quite good. A belly dancer performed and she was fantastic.More

I had seen reviews and pictures on Trip Advisor and couldn’t wait to eat here. Walking in to this restaurant we thought we were in for an extraordinary evening. The interior is absolutely jaw-dropping gorgeous as it was an old palace in days gone by....This house is from the 16th century. Did I mention how absolutely gorgeous it is? As we entered, there were musicians playing. They played throughout the evening. There were never any belly dancers. The restaurant was not very crowded at all, maybe only three other tables were filled. We were seated right away and the waiter started bringing out nine different salads: a delicious sweet tomato salad, sweet mashed pumpkin salad, potato salad, eggplant salad, cucumber salad, zucchini salad and beets. They were all very tasty. There was also stuffed phylo pastries with cheese and cilantro, chicken and cinnamon cigars and ground meat. All delicious. Next came our main course of a beef with prunes and almonds tajine. It had a wonderful flavor but unfortunately, the beef was tough and very chewy. It was very hard to eat and we didn’t finish it. Needless to say it was not one of the better meals we had in Morocco and we had some fabulous ones. Dessert, though, was a delicious bastilla with milk and almonds. I didn’t know bastilla could also be a dessert. We were then served plates of various cookies. Through our tour company, we were allotted a certain amount of money for our dinner in a restaurant that was not part of our tour package. The few times that this occurred, we were always under budget. At the end of our meal at Palaise Gharnata, we were presented with a bill for an extra $50. That totaled over 1,077 dirhams. The restaurant took total advantage of us. Not once did anybody from the restaurant give us a choice of dinners with prices, or tell us that we would have to pay more money for the dinner. The waiter just started bringing out the dishes - without us knowing what was ordered. We were not even given the opportunity to choose the meal. To pay an extra $50 for an ordinary beef dinner was outrageous. After we got back to our riad and analyzed what happened, we felt totally ripped off. I would recommend coming here just to see the beauty of the place but be sure to check your bill before you pay.More

This restaurant is located in a luxury palace with wonderful decorations. Food is served with local music and occasional dances, without the unnecessary feeling of being too much "touristic". Very good.

The restaurant is simply beautiful! When you walk in, your mouth falls open, you don't know where to look first! The food and service followed suit. I wish I had the recipe for the meat dish we were serviced, topped with prunes and apricots. It...was delicious. Four men played music throughout, and then Belly Dancers entertained beautifully! We all LOVED everything...almost forgot, delicious flat cake dessert! You won't be disappointed!More
