The chef has learned his trade in France and it shows in his inventive cooking (I've eaten everywhere, but smoked eel fritters with a beetroot puree was new to me) The menu is basically French, but there's a touch of Morocco in some of the flavours, particularly in the entrees We went there twice : my wife had fish each... When we stayed at the Dar Roumana we were the only ones in the building the night we had dinner, so the chef essentially was cooking just for us. Despite this, the entire diverse menu was available, and we ended up enjoying a lovely and romantic meal. In short, tremendous menu, wide range of drinks, excellent service, beautiful setting.

Original menu full of taste. The view from the terrace is also amazing, I totally recommend it for a dinner in Fes.

Had a nice evening here with two couples. Has the ambiance of a beautiful Fassi Riad but without the traditional Moroccan fare. All the food is gourmet quality and everyone in our group was very pleased with their orders. If you have had your fill of tajine, this is a must on your visit to Fes. Prices were 275 dirhams... We spent a really wonderful 3 days in this absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel. We took a taxi from the airport to the medina of Fes where the hotel is located and were met by the guide sent to help us to find our way through the fascinating and ancient streets. The plain stone facade belies the stunning interior of exquisite... More

This place is stunning. The house has been carefully and tastefully restored. Sitting in the middle of their stunning central courtyard and beautiful rooftop terrace is one of the primary draws of the place. The service is great too. We decided to have wine on the rooftop and the wait staff was nice enough to serve us there even though... More

Dar Roumana is in a beautifully restored riad. The dining room is quite handsome, and the food lives up to the setting. There's an interesting choice of dishes and very careful service. The experience feels consistent from beginning to end.

We were craving for something different after being all tagined out! To get to the roof top for pre dinner rinks was quite a hike and felt sorry for the waiter who had to bring our drinks to the top. It was worth it though! We had the rabbit and the veal steak for main course which was delightful and... More

An intimate dining experience in a beautiful setting, dinner at Dar Roumana's restaurant is a must-do for any visitor to Fes. Our talented French chef serves Mediterranean food with a Moroccan twist, and can be described as French/Moroccan 'fusion'. Changing daily, the dishes on the menu reflect the produce that's in season and bought fresh from the markets every day. Start with a drink on our roof terrace with spectacular views of the ancient medina of Fes, then dine in our courtyard restaurant. Decorated with colourful zellij tiling, carved cedar wood, a beautiful hand-painted bartal and intricate plaster, the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful. In the winter, reserve a table for two next to our open fire, and in the summer be cooled by the splashing sound of the central fountain. Adding to the romantic setting is the attentive but discreet service. Allow us to transport you to a world of fine cuisine for the evening. We look forward to welcoming you to Dar Roumana. Reservations essential.
