My tour group and I went to this restaurant for dinner as our only dinner meal in Casablanca. The food was good (though overpriced from what you pay in Morocco). And the ambience was kitschy but fun. The only strange thing that happened was when we first walked in the door a gentleman insisted that we all check our pocketbooks... More

Kmtravellers have seen the film several times. So a visit to Casablanca was not complete without Ricks Cafe. We weren't disappointed. Waiters dressed authentically, Arab influenced architecture and good food. The bar is well stocked and ready to supply a gin (of all the gin joints) or a champagne cocktail (We didn't dare to ask for the verve cliquot '26... More

Read reviews that warned of doormen turning people down. We showed up at the end of our Moroccan Holiday in snucks, slacks and silk shirts (daughter wore dress). They let us right in and right to our table. Excellent food, good price nice décor......just an overall classy place. Warning, as the evening gets going, the service does tend to get... More

HUGE fan of the movie and just had to go when we visited Casablanca last month. Excellent service! We have 2 children under 13 and they had a blast too. The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal! One of the best memories from our Morocco trip. We were even given postcards from Rick's before we left.

We were really surprised by how authentic Ricks is. Every detail from the movie was superbly replicated. We had well prepared drinks and water. The dress is more formal attire, and since we had shorts on we had to sit at the bar. Overall, I think any fan of the movie or cinema noir in general would appreciate this fine... More

We were at Rick's Cafe attracted by the movie connection, but once inside we were impressed by the decor in clasdic moroccan art deco, never overdan but put together with class... The movie theme is not overwhelming at all But the real surprise came with the food: a great dining experience among the best ones we had in Morocco! Elegant... More

We went here for sentimental reasons really based on the film. It was really nice but obviously a new replica of the real cafe. Definitely good for an evening out with pianist and all. Food was good and waiters really pleasant.

Apparently Rick's cafe was a WWII figment of Hollywood 's propaganda imagination. Nonetheless modern Casablanca does have a Rick Cafe. No similarity whatsoever. Great food and service and customers. Just don't have the movie in your mind.

Great restaurant! Some of the best food in Casablanca. Book in advance and choose the ground floor for some live music. Dress code needed.

Description
Rick's Cafe Casablanca is a restaurant, bar and cafe located in the city of Casablanca, Morocco. Opened March 1, 2004, the place was designed to recreate the bar made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the movie classic Casablanca. Set in an old courtyard-style mansion built against the walls of the Old Medina of Casablanca, the restaurant - piano bar is filled with architectural and decorative details reminiscent of the film: curved arches, a sculpted bar, balconies, balustrades as well as beaded and stencilled brass lighting and plants that cast luminous shadows on white walls. There is an authentic 1930's Pleyel piano and As Time Goes By is a common request to the in-house pianist
