As of April 2016 they have stopped serving alcohol, but they do now have a new sign outside. When asked about the alcohol, the owner said "now halal".

I was taken to this restaurant by some local Algerian's. It was brilliant, lots of meat cooked to perfection. I had a steak rare, which was exquisite. The chef was very helpful and wanted to ensure that I was well looked after. You wont ever leave this restaurant and be hungry. A great experience, on my next trip to Algiers,... More

Restaurant Le Tyrolien located in the heart of the Algerian capital. A steakhouse/BBQ concept the decor rustic, brick walls and a lot wood are intended to be easy going, friendly and no formal approach. The restaurant spill out in to ground level for Bar pre or after drinks and upper section a cozy U shape counter with the middle live... More

Always difficult to find "international" food yet still very local in Algiers. However this restaurant is totally local at an international level. All kinds of grilled/BBQ'd meats, fresh greens, breads with cheese, humus, etc. French and Arabic spoken with a little English. Prompt efficient service. Super clean, fresh, light yet still a cozy ambiance. This is my second visit in 2... More

I'm heading to the Tyrolien since 2009, an old Grill bar founded in 1968 and leading by a very professional brothers. At Le Tyrolien you'll find Algerian chilli salade and veggies salade (served by default) and grilled meat (lamb, beef and chicken) one of the best in my opinion. Le Tyrolien is serving beer (Heineken) and Algerian local wine (red,... More

Good friendly place, good food, price worthy. Everyday of the week they have client, for Thursday and Friday nights you may need to wait for a while for an available place.

Small, typical, very good meat, nice staff and clean. It is possible to have beer. It is usual to find a mix between locals and expats. Difficult to park your car.
