One of the top 5 restaurants in Ames! Full menus throughout the day. Food is prepared to order by Sous Chefs and is always carefully planned and often has custom extras that others do not.

The Cafe is a fancy, yet casual place to eat with a changing menu. Each dish is elegantly prepared, fresh, and is delicious. They feature a dish nightly and have the best desserts in Ames, particularly the carrot cake. Their Facebook page posts the features, as well as the dessert menu, which also rotates. There is also a cafe sandwich... More

In town for a wedding, we had a chance to dine at The Cafe. We felt as though we had been transported to a French bistro in Paris. Grace, our waitress, was nicknamed Amazing Grace due to her knowledge and great service. The scallops were perfect.

As my first visit to Iowa, I have little to compare this cafe to others in Iowa, or even Ames, but the entire dining experience was spectacular. The atmosphere was unique, the service was good and the food was exquisite. From the design of the building to the decorations throughout, everything seemed well kept and comfortable. We arrived sometime between... More

The Café is our favorite for many reasons and is really the only place we consider when dining out. The seasonal, local menu is always offering something new to try. Always prepared with local and fresh ingredients. The breakfast is always fabulous, amazing dessert selection that will catch your eye the minute you walk in. Lunch is great if you... More

Whether you order a sandwich to go, stay for a bite to eat, or grab a drink and dessert and sit outside, The Cafe' has what you want 100% of the time! I love their Paloma's - a nice cool down adult drink!

Took my wife and young child here for dinner after a recommendation from some work friends. They had a good selection of salads, burgers and dinner entrees along with a wide variety of desserts and drinks. This would be a great place to take a date

This is a neat little restaurant. It has a quick order section and also a sit down area where you can order off of a menu. The items on the menu are not the typical café-bacon-and-eggs. My son got eggs with portabella mushrooms, I got toast and jelly (homemade bread and preserves). Excellent for a change of pace.

Great food, great prices. The menu changes often and never disappoints. You can also stop in to the coffee bar for coffee, sandwiches, salads, and dessert to go if you don't have an hour for a sit-down dinner.

Thank Mindy J
