Great place to meet friends or catch up on work

I love spend time here with friends and coworkers. They have a nice range of teas, sandwiches and bakery that fits my needs. It is a nice hub in historical downtown Ames.

Chunky chicken salad sandwich was excellent. Saw many plates coming out and all looked good. many students using tables to study so maybe a little problem with seating

Popped in during an art festival and they were fairly busy. I asked what they had for iced items and the waitress gave several recommendations. Went with the iced mocha to go. Very flavorful. It took a few minutes to put together due to the crowd but it was worth it. The restroom is rather sketchy.

I've met political contacts there; normally very QUIET, but not with all the political folks in town for this future election. Good shakes and sandwiches.

Cafe Diem is a wonderfully pleasant coffee shop to spend a few hours in, whether you're strolling through Main Street in Ames or looking for a place to study. The atmosphere is friendly and the coffee is hot and delicious. The staff friendly and the prices aren't too bad. Definitely one of my favorite places to spend some time when... More

This is a wonderful place to meet up with friends. It's comfy and I just love the atmosphere! It's slightly pricey as are all coffee shops, but down home feel. And that's important to me. On main street in Ames. The Marcydiner tantrum scale of 5/5-no screaming kids.

Our party ordered one of their specialty breakfast and it was one of the best I have ever eaten. The quality of the food was outstanding as was the service. If you are in Ames I would suggest checking out this place.

Coffee and Chai are solid options, a good place to chill and write/study/work. Enjoy the causal atmosphere.
