Love this local cafe in Ames Iowa. We always eat here when traveling on the interstate. I am a coffee lover and always look for good coffee stops that aren't chains. The sandwiches are very tasty too. I highly recommend Cafe Diem to anyone.

My favorite coffee hang out is in the heart of the Main Street Cultural District. It's perfect for a quick coffee pickup or a lazy afternoon hanging out with friends. The coffee is excellent and the staff is friendly. There is a small but excellent selection of pastries and sandwiches.

I went here with some family members for lunch. A little late in the day for coffee, but we did have some fresh brewed iced tea which was refreshing. I had the grilled chicken panini sandwich, a green salad and chips. It was very nice. My wife had the Reuben sandwich which looked delicious. Mom took the grilled cheese which... More

We stopped in for lunch on the advice of some of the ladies who work at Reiman Gardens. The décor was interesting: instead of booths, they hung an eclectic mix of old doors from the ceiling to separate the tables. There was a lovely light fixture in the center of the restaurant, as well. The young lady at the counter... More

This little coffee shop is downtown on main street the pros to Cafe Diem, is that they have to best mocha’s, smoothies, especially the strawberry and mango. They also make great waffles with strawberries on top and lightly dusted with powdered sugar, and these waffles are to die for. There iced chai’s are exceptionally good, and I normally don’t like... I had a delicious lunch (chicken salad sandwhich and stawberry smoothie) while I tackled quite a few work projects. I've spent plenty of time here with friends over the years as well. Great atmosphere and decorations. Lots of local art! The service was fantastic - friendly and prompt! Tip: Be sure to sit on the west side of the building... More

I love spend time here with friends and coworkers. They have a nice range of teas, sandwiches and bakery that fits my needs. It is a nice hub in historical downtown Ames.
