Aunt Maude's is one of the best date night restaurants in town. Good food, a little pricey, but very dim lighting.

We had a wonderful evening meal with family, enjoying a nicely paired Austrian wine with Cioppino and roasted/sliced Tri-tip steak. The Cioppino included clams, halibut, shrimp, and mussels in a wonderfully tomato base. The flavors run deep in the entree. Is was a delight for me to dine on this nicely prepared and presented dish. The other members of our... More

Met friends at this restaurant and sat outdoors. It was a gorgeous day and the food was delicious! Service was great!

This is a favorite of ours for lunch or dinner. The food is fantastic. Lunch prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is a bit more casual than at dinner. The specials are always changing with fresh local food.

Five years ago I would have given this restaurant a 5-star rating but unfortunately the quality of the food has slowly declined in recent years. Dinner for two with a bottle of wine costs about $100 but the quality of the food is on par with a restaurant where you would expect to pay half that amount. I would sooner... More

What a lovely find in downtown Ames. We took our cousins here for their anniversary. They have smalled portions for those who can't eat too much. The atmosphere was great and the Main Street Chicken was terrific.

My husband and I go here for special occasions. The food is fresh and extremely high quality. A fine dining experience in a wonderful location in Ames. It makes a great date night, as the environment is romantic (low lighting) and quiet.

This has always been our favorite place to eat in Ames...no longer. We ate there recently and we are NOT happy with the price increases. A side salad was included in the past, but now is $4.00 or $5.95 extra depending on which you order. And a few pieces of bread are $2.95, not included. The salad price is on... More

They no longer bring bread to table. Ordered the steak special. It was OK but it doesn't even come with salad or potatoes. Asked for a baked potatoes and they don't even have them. 2 choices was regular fries or mashed. Waiter didn't even inform me the meal was just steak and veggies. Glad I asked as it would never...
