When in Ames, we always try to have dinner at Aunt Maude's. Excellent menu, fine service, well-rounded wine list. Aunt Maude's is definitely where we will choose to eat if we are in Ames. Iowa is noted for its tri-tip steaks and Aunt Maude's has several offerings of this excellent cut of Iowa beef.

I chose the smaller serving of salmon, and was not disappointed. No salad comes with the meal, just vegetables. You can order a salad for $4.00 with your meal. I liked that atmosphere in the dining room, and wait staff was professional. If you want a casual evening, you can also eat in the bar if a booth is open,... More

Was my second time in this restaurant. Good service, we went there to celebrate a birthday was all perfect except two dishes but they did their best to solve it. Good chocolate mouse and variety of drinks. I ate the grill salmon was very well, I like their option to order smaller platers

Our company had a large (35) group travel to Ames while touring company facilities. The setting was warm and the wait staff was fast and courteous. Try the Peanut Butter Pie!

Maude's has been a stable for about 30 years in Ames. It is not inexpensive but every dish on the menu is a bounty of flavors. One of our favorites is the Cajun Prime Rib sandwich, which is also one of the least expensive. It is great every time. Their Tequila Chicken Fettuccini is awesome and they offer bistro servings... Great place to eat, but bring your pocketbook. The quiche at noon is really good. Great atmosphere and a very popular place just off Main in Ames.

Fine dining at its best, offering many traditional and continential specialties. The Chef and waitstaff are impeccably ready to serve you and your party the finest meal that can be had in the entire county.
