Went here on a recommendation from a friend with family during recent ISU visit. Great choice. The apps we had were all great, including the soda bread, calamari, and crab cakes. The meals were a couple Fish and Chips and Stout Salmon-all were excellent. BIL stated he had eaten here on business lunches and all had been very happy with... More

It's that time of year again - time for Dublin Bay's pumpkin bread pudding. As long as the sweet pumpkins hold out, you can enjoy this all-time favorite of mine. Their year-around bread pudding is exceptional but the pumpkin version is truly wonderful. After making the drive to Ames for no other reason than to enjoy the pudding, I also... More

Meals and service at one time the best in town. Many times one of the owners would greet you at the door. Now you never know what to expect. The layout of the dining room is unique and you do feel you are a part of the atmosphere. The dining room is divided into smaller, comfortable dining areas like one... More

Not really happy with this meal. Service was slow and food was only mediocre. Not planning to go there again.

For all the grave reviews read, we were quite disappointed. The staff while great professional and courteous...the food was a disappointment. I ordered the lamb stew. Instead of chunks of lamb as expected in a stew it was ground meat. Skimpy on the veggies. It primarily consisted of gravy thickened with cornstarch. My husband's fish was overcooked and was not... Very nice restaurant. Nice atmosphere, great food, and high class service. The food was amazing - served hot and fresh! Can't wait to go back.

When folks start talking about restaurants in Ames, Iowa, one of the first that always comes up is Hickory Park. And rightfully so, the food there is delicious. But if I had to choose one place where the food is better, the beer is cold, and the atmosphere is far more relaxing I'd go to Dublin Bay every time. You... More

Private parking lot. Nice entry way. After being in Ireland for two weeks this place brought us back to our trip there. Snugs throughout the entire place give you privacy and warmth. The bar is very nice. Beer menu pleased us greatly. The food menu was really nicely prepared. We had the ahi tuna sandwich which was prepared well. We... More

I do a lot of traveling, and I've experienced several Irish Pubs along the way. What makes Dublin Bay extraordinary in my mind is the combination of the following: 1) A great menu for those who enjoy Irish cuisine, and for those who would prefer something else - I've eaten here several times and have always had better than average...
