My daughter and I tried the taco pizza. It was the most delicious taco pizza we've ever eaten - and we are taco pizza connoisseurs. I would definitely visit again to try some of the other pizzas.

Drove from Dubuque on our day off to check out this gem in Ames. Excellent pizza. You can tell they have perfected the art of making a great pizza. Had the Buffalo pizza with Denver crust.

If you are in the area and looking for some great Pizza this is the place to go. You will need to be patient though. They take their time and for pizza that is this good it is a okay with this family. The shop is small and cramped like a large family gathering at grandmas. You can create your... More

This little gem of a place is nestled in the awesomeness of Main Street Ames, IA. We found it on Yelp and were not at all disappointed! Delicious pizza, quaint atmosphere, and nice employees!

Average at best. The dough was bitter, the sauce sour and the toppings mundane. However the service was friendly. We had it delivered to the Brewery around the corner where the atmosphere was clean, quiet and fresh.

If you love pizza, do not miss Great Plains . It has bee in Ames winning award after award for best pizza since before I went to college there in the 80's. It is still my favorite pizza and they do have thin crust as well as their famous thick crust! Casual atmosphere in a fun college town .

This is the BEST pizza in Ames! I love the whole wheat crust and the honey they offer to dip the pizza in. The wait can be awhile, so be prepared for that, or call in your order before you arrive. I also prefer lunch hours, when you can buy it by the slice, and not the whole pizza.

Decided to eat here based on all the great reviews and it was definitely disappointing. As other reviewers have pointed out, the set up is a little strange. You enter in the middle of the dining room and you have to go back to the counter to order. I think a sign would be helpful as we spent a minute... More

Little too much for me for pizza. I am a thin crust person, I had their heavy crust pizza. TOOOOO heavy for me. I wasn't fond of the concept of eating crust with Honey.

Our daughter was making her final decision as to whether or not she was going to pick Iowa State for her college choice. Her, my wife and I drove to Ames for one final visit. In addition to spending tim on campus, we wanted to eat at some local places. First night there was pizza. This place was recommended to... More
