It's been years since visiting the Ox Yoke Inn and not much has changed at this family style restuarant. Your first choice is whether you would like the family style sides or just a plated dinner. Usually people go to this restuarant for the family style, but this time we chose the plated dinners which was plenty of food. The... More

This was rated highly & I needed a good lunch. Ordered the sauerbraten- which comes w/ green beans or corn & potato dumplings. I specifically asked if the beans were fresh or canned & was told "frozen". They were canned & tasted like it! I had high expectations being in the middle of corn & green bean country! The meat... Friends of ours invited us to join them to celebrate a birthday. They decided to go to the OX Yoke Inn since the groups favorite local place was closed. Walked into the lobby and stood by the sign that said wait to be seated. After standing there for 5 minutes and nobody saying anything to us, like we'll be with... More

Visited with my sister. She recommended this place and I'm so happy she did. We wwere seated right away and our waitress was very attentive. I highly recommend their chicken salad on a croissant. The chicken salad was nothing fancy, but it was probably the best tasting I have ever had. If you're visiting the Amana Colonies, you need to... More

I rated this restaurant average because although the food is acceptable it lacks the good German flavor. My pork was over cooked and dry. The sauerkraut did not taste homemade. The highlight of the meal and one reason to eat here is the dessert. We shared a piece of German chocolate cake that was the best I ever tasted. It... More

Delicious and plentiful - what you expect from German "family style eating". I did miss the touch I experienced in Amana restaurant many years ago where the staff were in more traditional clothing and "played the part". The service was just standard.

Average food at above average touristy prices because of the location. Our waitress at lunch had no personality and was borderline rude. Looking around us, everyone seemed to be getting the family style option with huge portions of mostly unhealthy food. The whole atmosphere of the place seemed to be about gorging on huge portions and was a bit sickening.... More

Great selection of German items on the menu. The food and service were excellent. Very clean and the wait time was minimal. Loved the Bratwurst with Kraut! The hot German Potato Salad and Raspberry Pie were also outstanding.

This restaurant deserves 5 stars, because it is clean, great service, excellent food and reasonably priced. We had the very tender hot roast beef. The waitress even brought a bowl of extra brown gravy Glad she did because it was delicious. Cold slaw was wonderful. Highly recommend this place.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times in the past and the food is always great with very friendly and helpful service. The food is served family style and tastes like home cooked dinner! Everything is truly made from scratch! Farm to table before it became in style!
