We had a good dinning experience in the Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, Altoona. Our waitress was polite and pleasant to us. We didn’t feel like being rushed to order our meal.
The lightings are slightly dim; the music selections playing in the background are mostly Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and others.
I’ve ordered a plate of Classic Spaghetti Marinara and my palate was delightedly satisfied with the taste of it. The sauce was not too sour like most Marinara sauce I’ve tasted before. I think the ingredients were blended really well that made the meal tasted just right for me.
We also ordered a Raspberry Limoncello Cake dessert. The cake was beautifully presented. The cake is sweet and slightly sour because of the raspberry and limoncello. It was perfect for my taste. I would order it again.

To celebrate the completion of our octogenarian parents’ successful Covid vaccinations, we broke them out of their retirement complex and headed to Johnny’s Steakhouse in Altoona. Home run from the moment we arrived. The very pleasant hostess was terrific and seated us at a quiet table where we could pull curtains to dampen ambient noise (which was minimal) to allow for easy conversation. Our server, Weston, was just extraordinary. Pleasant, professional, helpful, efficient and thoughtful. He provided just the tight amount of attention to our table, always with smile...or at least smiling eyes. His ISU mask obscured a full face view. As always, the food never disappoints at Johnny’s. Reliably great; this kitchen team knows how to please. Thanks to Weston and everyone at Johnny’s for our family’s first restaurant outing since Covid sequestered our parents. We really enjoyed our Sunday with you!

My fiancé and I came to this location for the first time on the night of his birthday. Anna C. was our waitress and her service was superb! The steaks were cooked perfect and tasted delicious, as always. We were thankful for the birthday dessert that was served with a lit candle. We recommend Johnny’s, especially this location to everyone!! Try this place if you haven’t, you will love it. :)

I have visited this restaurant a few times but this weekend I had my birthday dinner at this location and I had the worst customer service ever. They've treated my guest like sh*t!! they had me and my girls waiting outside in heels while waiting for everyone to arrive mind you; I called a week early to make reservations and contacted them 30 minutes before arriving.
The server was literally talking sh*t the whole time making me look so bad in front of my family and friends for picking out this 5-star restaurant but never again!!!
The food was undercooked... the stake was literally bleeding, the potato was super dry, my lobster mac and cheese was so watery, I couldn't even enjoy my birthday meal. They wanted to charge me $3 per serving for people to eat the cake I got as a gift!!
Management is also TRASH

Johnny's has always been a favorite of ours but after tonight, we won't be back, at least for some time. We came out to the Altoona location. We've been to a few restaurants since things haven been opening up and have felt pretty good about the COVID19 precautions they were taking, however, Johnny's isn't taking any precautions at all. They are seating all tables, no social distancing was taking place. I saw menus being taken back up front and no one was wiping them down. I also watched a staff member bus a table and immediately felt uncomfortable. They didn't wipe down the salt or pepper shakers, nor anything else that was left on the table for the next diners. They barely wiped down the table top and didn't even touch the seats. This is gross under normal circumstances but it's just plain unsafe and reckless during these times. Also hardly any of the staff were wearing masks. We just can't patronize an establishment that is so negligent.

My husband and I enjoyed our date night at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse. We always enjoy the Little Italy appetizer and our pasta meals! The service was exceptional tonight! Our server, Weston, was not only knowledgeable about the menu, but was very efficient. He even packaged a chocolate lava cake and ice cream dessert for me with instructions to ensure it tasted as good as in the restaurant. We will definitely be back.

It was obvious that Johnnys is fighting the same staffing challenges as many places. Servers were working hard and food was a little slower than normal.
We visited on a Sunday night and it was full.
All that said, service was very good and the food excellent. No issues other than things being a bit slow. Everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our meal.
Very nice location and modern place.

I was lied to first by the manager when a week before my visit I made reservations for seven. I asked if they could seat me and my family at a specific square top table near the entrance. He explained they can reserve a time but not a specific table. Seating was first come first served. I showed up exactly at Sunday opening; 11:00 AM. No other customers were in the building. I requested the square top table by the entrance. I was informed by the hostess that table was reserved. I told her that I was informed by the manager they did not reserve tables. She said that was right then attempted to lie to me by telling me someone else had reserved that table. So I said "Well it's obvious that you do reserve tables but you are standing there telling me you don't". I was prepared to continue this argument with her just to see how far she would take this lie but by that time my family members had arrived and I took the round top the hostess had offered us in the dining room. It flat out pissed me off being lied to, twice. The lunch menu was marginal. I should have ordered steak but my partner and I ordered salmon. The teriyaki salmon was pathetic. The rest of the plates were just O.K; really nothing special and at the prices Johnny's now charges the food should be spectacular. The location on Fleur Ave. is much better run with better food. I have booked Johnny's here in Altoona for a holiday get together with my daughter for the last five years. I won't waste my time booking here again.

The restaurants interior and patio are elegant. One eats with the eyes first, and the food is gorgeous. Then, you taste the food, rather it's chicken parmigiano, or a seafood pasta (like Chanel #5, with lobster and shrimp), or a medium rare steak, all is worth the money. --A truly wonderful meal and evening.

The food and service were amazing!! I ordered the Salmon Fiorintino and my husband ordered the Crusted Steak and Shrimp. Both were cooked to perfection . The salmon had great flavor and the stuffed shrimp amazing. For dessert we had the tiramisu, the best I have had. A great place to celebrate our anniversary!! We love this restaurant. Worth trying!!

Our steaks were the perfect temp, and the rest of our food was delicious. Our waiter, Weston, helped us with beer selections and ordering in a very friendly and attentive manor. We were regularly checked in on, and service was quicker than expected! Definitely need to go back when we have room for dessert!

It was my family’s first time visiting Johnny’s Steakhouse. We were celebrating my husbands new job. I was a little apprehensive because we were bringing our 3 children and I didn’t see a children’s menu online. We had reservations, and there were 3 kid menus waiting. From start to finish, our server Janaya was amazing and attentive. She was knowledgeable with the menu, gave excellent suggestions, and had my children grinning. We had the sausage bread, Johnny’s chips, and the salmon dip for appetizers. The house salad was refreshing, and our entrees delicious. Thank you so much, Janaya for a wonderful first time. We plan on returning, and will be asking for our server again!

The waitress was very rude and apparently did not realize her tip would reflect her service. Not sure what her problem was, but we will not ever allow Johnny’s steakhouse to seat us in her section. Honestly, it will probably be a long time before we return there anyways after tolerating someone’s ignorant attitude.

My wife and I were excited about the opportunity to go out and eat after the shut down. We ordered a cocktail and waited for the server to take our order. I ordered a rib-eye steak medium- well. On my second bite blood covered my plate and baked potato. The sever informed me, I was going to get a new steak. When the second steak arrived again it looked great. This time on my third bite blood come out the steak. The steak instead of being pink was beet red. I did not eat anymore. I decided not to tell the sever. We did get a free dessert. My wife’s meal was good.

My first experience here for dinner. Large building with indoor and outdoor seating. Very professional server (ask for Anna) well trained. I had a crab cake as an appetizer. Not jumbo lump, but very tasty in a bed of diced tomatoes. Main course-fettuccine with marinara and rope sausage. Just the right portion size. The sauce was expertly cooked. I had sliced tomatoes as the salad. Dessert was cake with coconut ice cream. My best dining experience north of Des Moines. Great food, service and atmosphere. Plenty of parking opposite an outlet mall.
