We had decided to go out to eat, The snowy weather didn't stop us. I had mentioned going to Jo"s. We had the lunch buffet. (It was a first time for one of the people.) The fried chicken was the bomb as young people say....It was crispy yet moist and tender, The beef roast was well totally a surprise with its tenderness and taste. The mashed potatoes were hot and buttery The salad bar was fresh and filled with some delightful edibles. I just wish I had of taken pictures but I was to busy eating I only wish they were open a bit later on Saturday so that I could bring more friends alongMore

Jo's was out of our way, but we wanted to try something different. Both of us had buffet and the only main dish was fried chicken which was good and flavorful. I love dressing but this was too wet, needed cooked longer. There were homemade...mashed potatoes, two gravies and corn or green beans which were salty. They also had chicken and noodles but the noodles were overcooked and gummy. The salad bar was great, lettuce, spinach and a variety of toppings as well as several salads like macaroni salad, cottage cheese, pistachio pudding salad. There were two soups which neither of us sampled. Dessert was a piece of carrot cake which was a little dry and had a couple of very noticeable brown areas on the bottom. We probably won't be back, there are better choices in Arthur.More

We happened to eat there on day they had mashed potatoes and beef with noodles. They were as good as I have ever tasted! Hope to hit it on noodle day again!

Our family and I were recommended to have lunch at Jo’s. It is Amish owned and very authentic with absolutely delicious food and wonderful service. It is located in the small town of Chesterville, between Arcola and Arthur in the Amish area of central Illinois....I cannot recommend it highly enough! You won’t be disappointed. You must have the cinnamon pudding with whipped cream. Memorable!More

Passing through and stopped at Jo's Diner. We each ordered the lunch buffet for $10 each. This restaurant is only open until 2 pm. The buffet had fried chicken and smoked pork chops, along with mashed potatoes, dressing, white gravy, corn, a salad bar, a...butter cake with ice cream, and rolls. We've definitely had better buffet food, but seemed like the place was very busy for such a small town.More

The lunch buffet has many delicious items. We especially love the broasted chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy! Soups are home made. Salad bar is bountiful. We highly, very highly, recommend the home made cheesecake. You can also order form the menu. Jo's diner also...serves breakfast. It's a hidden gem and you will return again and again.More

We ate with friends for lunch and found the food quite good with exceptional flavoring, tender meats, and a nice variety. We ate at 1:00 p.m., only an hour before closing, and there was a full buffet which looked nice and fresh despite being close...to the end of their dining hours. The fried chicken was moist with breading that was not heavy. The pork was tender, lean and an amazing flavor. The pulled pork was lean and flavorful. The carrot/spice cake was moist and so yummy with a homemade coconut topping. Their spinach was fresh. The vegetable salads were good. We hope to go back as the quality was outstanding and a great value for the price.More

After deciding on a trip to one of our favorite grocery stores(Country Salvage) we decided on lunch at this little diner. I had been here before and assured my husband he would enjoy it too. The buffet can't be beat for all around good food,...but this time I enjoyed the Tues. special. Meatloaf. The plate included entree' , mashed potatoes and carrots. It's not easy, and quite chancy, ordering this meal in a restaurant, but let me tell you it was delicious! My husband had just a hamburger (not being the adventurous type) and he rated it better than average. My meal included the dessert bar, including angel food cake, lemon cake, and frozen custard serve yourself . One cannot leave here hungry. Definitely a good place to stop.More

We urge people to give this a try, our experience was TOP-NOTCH, food first quality, and we will go back whenever we're in the area We went here after recommendation from a business friend. The many choices were all great, and desserts excellent. We found...NO fault with this place, and suggest you go and find out for yourself. Friendly, family atmosphere, and again I say, GREAT FOOD!More
