Dining here for the first time, I must say this place has a lot of buzz. I liked the bar vibe and the drinks were pretty good actually but the food was just so so. I think they were going for gourmet Mexican but based on my first sampling I was underwhelmed. The complimentary gold standard, chips and salsa were... More

Cute place. The guacamole was great. Good location - conveniently located near the train station and Metropolis theater.

Salsa 17 has one of the best table side guacamole preparations I have experienced. Very well done. Paired with excellent chips. The salsa is overly mild for my taste. The platters are well done, but think more aligned with authentic Mexican. This is not Tex Mex.

We found this hot spot by way of Trip Advisor and I'm glad I listened the the reviewers, as it was very good. If you plan ahead, note that they take reservations, otherwise, it seems that you should definitely plan on waiting. We waited about 40 min on a recent Friday night around 7:30. Also, parking is on the street... More

Dinner was excellent, I ordered a steak burrito. It was large and fresh ,melted on my tongue. The homemade guacamole was wonderful. Freshly made tortilla chips! I plan on going back.

Salsa 17 is our go-to spot for a fun atmosphere and consistently good food (every day of the week) We love the made-to-order guacamole cart that is made table-side. All of the entrees are wonderful. In particular, we like the fajitas and burritos. I recently ordered the poblano burrito (vegetarian) and it was a fantastic mix of flavors and was... More

My husband and I recently dined here with friends for the first time and wish we had known about this gem earlier. It is a wonderful restaurant with attentive servers, great food and choices for adult beverages along with ambiance (we sat outside in the alleyway and loved it ). I would highly recommend savoring the tasty salsa and chips... More

Dined there last night with friends and sat for three hours with no one rushing us out- perhaps because we were outdoors and no one was in a hurry for our spot since it was a cooler evening. However we were toasty warm with the space heater! Nice selection of drinks and wonderful chips and salsa-unique! Shared a chile rellano... More

The food here is always top notch. My favorite is the Arrachera Chihuahua (grilled skirt steak with mushrooms, onions, and green peppers topped with melted chihuahua cheese.) The service is exemplory and the table side guacamole is dangerously delicious. You can't go wrong.
