Just the best ramen anywhere, especially in the northwest suburbs. It's not a fancy place, just order and wait to be called up for you Ramen.

Mitsuwa offers a good variety of Japanese cuisine in a (somewhat hectic) food court-type setting. There are several choices of food vendors -- each offering something different. The food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Authentic experience.

We often visit Mitsuwa as it is an excellent Japanese supermarket. That said, you will also find in Mitsuwa a food court with a variety of Japanese and Korean foods. You will also find sushi and rolls pre-packed to go (be sure to get some free ice at the back of the supermarket to keep your sushi cold and fresh).... More

This place is awesome!! It's like a trip to Japan. It's like a bunch of shops under one roof. They have a grocery store with all kinds of interesting things. The bakery shop is great. Always have to try different items. Very yummy. There is a large area that has sushi made to go. They have a liqueur store, video... More

Besides the great grocery store where you can find just about anything to complete your Asian meal - this place has a great food court. Be be warned - they are super busy during lunch hours as well as weekends and holidays. We had Bip bim bap from Mama's house that was pretty good. Super hot bowls, ask for kimchi... More

The go-to Asian market in NW suburban Chicago. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Quality, selection and fair prices.

Seems to have cut down on staff in recent years--shelves not always well-stocked, even if the goods are in the "back room." Range of fresh Japanese vegetables less than in previous years, but one can still get most of what you need for a traditional New Year's feast. There is still the specialty pickle area; decent range of frozen Japanese... More

This place takes no credit cards and no ATM. It would be nice if they took credit cards. No one speaks English there ether.

Mitsuwa Marketplace is a chain consistent of several different locations, mainly in California, one in New Jersey, and this one that I'm reviewing in the suburb of Chicago in Arlington Heights. It isn't really just a "restaurant". Rather, it truly is a "marketplace" consisting of a huge supermarket, a bookstore, a bakery, a cosmetic store, a liquor store, and then,... More

Great place to pick up all kinds of stuff. Food. Prepared and unprepared. Quick bite. Dishes. Make up. Etc. So much stuff. I come for the ramen every time I'm in Chicago. Gotta have the ramen.
