Mitsuwa Marketplace is a chain consistent of several different locations, mainly in California, one in New Jersey, and this one that I'm reviewing in the suburb of Chicago in Arlington Heights. It isn't really just a "restaurant". Rather, it truly is a "marketplace" consisting of a huge supermarket, a bookstore, a bakery, a cosmetic store, a liquor store, and then,... More

Great place to pick up all kinds of stuff. Food. Prepared and unprepared. Quick bite. Dishes. Make up. Etc. So much stuff. I come for the ramen every time I'm in Chicago. Gotta have the ramen.

Very fun outing if you are in the neighborhood. Favorite part was the freezer section with every mochi ball flavor imaginable. The kitchen goods were fun to peruse and if I hadn't already eaten the food court looked great! Don't miss the massage chairs to the left of the food court - $1 for five minutes of loveliness.

If you love sushi, try a walk through Mitsuwa to gather everything from appetizers to sake at a fraction of the cost of going to a restaurant. And if you can make your own soft shell crab, be sure to check out the freezer section which frequently carries them in a three pack.

Love this place I've been coming here since 2004. They have everything you could want. For a real treat try the green tea ice cream.

Good quality Japanese & Korean food, much better than 10 years ago when I worked nearby. Bring cash. The market is pretty good, too, although it cannot come close to Mutsuwa in Torrance, CA. So don't bother to compare.

We took our Japanese exchange student here. First we all had lunch at the food court. Then we had bubble tea and crepes. Then we bought a cart full of grocery items to take home and make. We were debating whether to buy sashimi to make sushi because we live 2.5 hours away and hadn't brought a cooler or freezer... More

This is a very busy market/food court on any weekends. New customers walked and amazed by the atmosphere and the variety of food from another culture. Friendly faces all around. Seafood are always fresh. And their bread!!!so soft and inviting. Come...check it out at least once.

Mitsua is a Japanese mall, consisting of a grocery store, specialty stores (liquor, book store, etc) and a food court. In the food court there are a number of options -- amazing ramen that accepts cash only and has as much as an hour wait on the weekend -- sushi, smoothies, and one of our favorites -- the rice bowl...
