It's been a nearly a year since the last time we went to Blarney's so we decided to try it again. Blarney's is a unique place to dock your boat and have drinks with friends. It's literally an island with a boat required for access....There is a shuttle that runs regularly for landlubbers who want to try it. But, the food is terrible... I repeat, TERRIBLE. Eat before you get there. I ordered a simple chicken sandwich.... how can you screw up a chicken sandwich? Well, forty-five minutes later, I got this dried out tasteless piece of crusty something on a bun. yuck. The band that was playing was like a few neighborhood kids playing in a garage. It made for nothing more than background noise. This is a mostly adult place... ie, not really a place for kids unless you go early. By mid-afternoon, if there is a band playing, there will be lots of drinking and the crowd behavior can sometimes get "R" rated. So, bottom line, if you want to have drinks on an island in Illinois, in a college frat house kind of atmosphere, give Blarney's a try. For us, once the novelty wore off, we realized how poor everything else is. On the good side, there is lots of space to dock your boat. There are some shallow spots in the area so go slow.More

The atmosphere is great. I have a huge problem with the ladies bathroom. At 3:15 pm NO toilet paper, NO paper towels and worst of all, DURING A PANDEMIC NO SOAP. This is inexcusable and shows the lack of good management as this isn’t the...first time this has happened.More

We were at Blarney Island for lunch when they had the "Christmas in July" party. The concept is great but Blarney's is suffering from a serious staff shortage. It took us an hour and a half to get a couple of sandwiches for lunch (no...exaggeration). The bar had only one bartender at the time I got a couple drinks, yielding about another twenty minute wait. There was a waitress who seemed very stressed and unable to keep up. We were conversing with one couple who came to Blarney's via the shuttle from shore who had to leave without getting the lunch they ordered because they ran out of time. Blarney's is a unique fun place but they need to staff up. We likely wont be back for a while until it can get fixed.More

Had a great time talking to Opal and Allie at the retail counter. They helped me find the shirts I needed. The nachos were very filling and had a beautiful presentation. Thanks girls!

We went to Blarney Island on a Saturday early afternoon. It's as good as ever. The food is decent, beer is cold, music is good and the people are just having fun. The place is truly unique. And, the fact that it takes a boat...to get there helps to keep the troublemakers away.More

We were boating on the Fox River chain and decided to stop here for lunch. It was horrible. Now, being on an island, I expected to pay a little more than at an on-shore Resturaunt, but the food was not what we ordered, marginal in...taste and grossly overpriced. I ordered a hamburger with onion. I got a cheeseburger without onion. The taste was marginal at best. The price was $10.00. My wife ordered a ceaser salad with chicken and balsamic dressing. She received a Ceaser salad without chicken and a mystery dressing which was certainly NOT balsamic. Total bill was $27.00 for the wrong, not very tasty food, no fries and no drinks. I have learned my lesson — I will never return, and I suggest you stay away as well. If all you want to do is get drunk, this is a fine place. If you want to spend an outrageous amount of money to get food that is worse than Sonic, this is a fine place. However, if you want decent food that is what you actually ordered at a reasonable price, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!More

My wife and I were on our boat on June 12th and noticed some human movement on Blarney Island, which had been closed due to the pandemic. So, we cruised over and docked. According to our waitress, they had just re-opened the day before. We...were among only a handful of people there at just after noon on this Friday. The staff had masks or face shields on and there is plenty of hand sanitizer placed in strategic locations. They are not using menus yet for cleanliness reasons, so we ordered while looking at the menu on the wall. We took a nice table on one of the patios in the sun. The food was good as usual and the beer was cold. Our waitress told us that the current plan is to be open on Thursdays through Sundays for the balance of the season. We were glad to see signs of life at this iconic spot on the Chain-o-Lakes.More

We stopped here with friends in the summer (2019) while out boating the chain. Olivia was our mixologist and we couldn't have been happier.

It was colder than usual & place was not busy; but I wanted to see while I was here in early September because my friends sent me such fun pics/videos all summer of how crowded/fun, live bands. we still had awesome time on chilly slow...day because of super fun bartender Ellie & just great energy of the place out in middle of lake; was highlight of my trip to Illinois before I had to work in busy Chicago all week. Looking forward to proper visit next summer...More

Fantasy fest 2019 was one to remember. Our group had an amazing time, our bartender Tuesday was a blast! She knew how to have fun and work at the same time! One of the best bartenders EVER!! The body paint on everyone was super cool...too! It really felt like we were in the key west! The food counter was super organized and Maddie was an great help with retail as the night got a little chilly. Highly recommend if you want a party! Definitely will be coming again!More
