For our first anniversary dinner, my husband and I wanted to eat at a romantic Italian restaurant. A friend of ours who lives in Alton recommended Tony's. The food was very good, wine list was AWESOME!, service was excellent. We brought a special bottle of wine and called ahead to make sure we could enjoy it with our dinner. We... More

We visited Tony's this Saturday for a family reunion. I had a large group of 40 coming from all over the country. We called to set up the event with Tori. She walked through every step with us and through my 20+ calls remained sweet and helpful! Each time I spoke with her it was always "absolutely! Of course! Sure!... More

This is the third trip that I have been extremely disappointed with service and getting our bill wrong within the past year. This past visit we went for pizza and beer. Took 20 min to get our first drink, and mine was red wine instead of white, the waitress took it back and it took almost another 30 min to... More

We have gone to this restaurant for many years, and it is nothing like it once was. The beef medallions were chunks of tough steak. The baked potato was over cooked. Although the waitress was very nice, the service was terrible. She had too many tables to take care of.

HIdden in what looks like an old 'brownstone' type array of buildings, when you step inside, you'll be amazed by just how old-school excellence this building is. They did have issues with the long lines, as there were somewhere around 7 or 8 groups waiting at the same time at the reservation desk, and only one or two personnel to... More

A nice clean restaurant in Alton that can provide for large parties and really deliver on delicious Italian fair. I have eaten here several times and must say I never have had a bad meal. I especially like the Caesar Salad, but why is the catch. Tony's has the know how to use real anchovy dressing. It's just a small... More

I was excited to take my friend there for dinner after having a cocktail there and appetizers just a month earlier, and hearing good things about the food there. The restaurant was packed and we did not have reservations, but we were happy to sit at the bar where they have a full dinner menu. Maybe it was just a... More

Have loved the food here for years. Slowly the rising food cost passes on to consumers is starting to out way the food.

i along with my wife and her coworkers attended an annual employee safety dinner on 13 December 2014. We were seated in the VI P Room with 20 or more guest. This location had previously been known as one of the best Italian steak houses in Alton. But on this night in my opinion it just didn't go well for... More

Description
Tony's Tuscany dining room offers a casual relaxed atmosphere with elegant tones. This dining room draws you in with it's deep colored walls, pressed tin ceiling, and the amber tiffany lamps adding the perfect glow over the cozy private booths. Please note there are no reservations accepted in this dining room. The casual Tuscany dining room is seated on a first come first serve basis. If reservations are essential, Tony's boasts four elegant dining rooms complete with pristine white table linens and service that is second to none. Of course great service and atmosphere aren't the only reasons people have been making the trip to Tony's for 55 years. Tony's is the home of the World Famous Pepperloin Steak. This beef tenderloin is marinated in Tony's secret marinade, rolled in half cracked black pepper, grilled to perfection, and drizzled with garlic butter. After one bite of this mouth watering steak, you will never want steak from another restaurant again. It is so tender it can be cut with a butter knife, and it practically melts on your palette. Tony's also sells these unbelievable steaks marinated, peppered, and ready for your grill at home. If steaks are not for you, Tony's offers 20 different home made specialty pastas, along with a delicious selection of seafood and chicken dishes. With a wine list of 60 wines by the bottle and 30 by the glass selections, even the most discriminating wine aficionado will be in heaven. For an after dinner drink one must try the Italian Delight, Tony's version of the ice cream drink the Brandy Alexander. After re-opening from the flood of '93, Tony's added The Third Street Cafe (is now the new prohibition lounge), a 75 seat bar with a charming sidewalk cafe. It is a favorite place in town for meeting friends for drinks, waiting for a table in the dining room, or bringing the family in for a casual dinner. Tony's bar and sidewalk cafe serves pizza, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and kabobs in a family atmosphere. Tony's is sure to have something to please everyone, and we do our best to accommodate any special requests you may have.
