The bar staff was nice. However, the Swedish meatballs came to the table room temperature. The spinach and artichoke dip was a very small portion for the price. Of the two rolls for dipping into the lobster bisque, one was literally frozen (like right out...of the freezer - not just cold). We were finished with our meals before the baked second roll arrived at the table. Lobster bisque was delicious, and the wine was good, but in NO WAY worth the amount of money we spent on a completely sub-par meal. Live and learn. We will not be back and will recommend no one to visit.More

This is now Peach Barn Winery & Cafe formerly Hedman Orchards. We recently visited on a Friday night. The drinks, while pricey, were good and the staff mostly friendly. They had live music but the owners, whom really never interacted with guests beyond other family...members and friends, talked during the live music. This was distracting in my opinion. They have a very limited menu and I would suggest propane patio heaters for guest comfort during cold evening that are intended to be held outside. We had never visited this establishment when it was in operation by the founders. With some effort this place could be a lot more enjoyable. I’ll leave it “Average” for now and check back again at a later date.More

We came here the first weekend that allowed outdoor seating during this pandemic. We wore masks entering the building to order our food at the counter. We chose to eat outside on the deck. The tables were spaced out well. The staff all wore masks...and gloves. We felt very safe the entire time. Now the food and service. The service from calling to see if they were open to the service while we were there was absolutely perfect. They were so pleasant and helpful. We are celebrating our 25th anniversary (safely), so we are hiking for the weekend. The staff gave us all sorts of ideas and trails to choose from. She brought us out brochures and handwrote places on a piece of paper for us. This was all voluntarily offered. We never asked for it. That was so thoughtful and helpful. They brought us out a strawberry sundae for our anniversary. It was super delicious and the strawberries were local and fresh. The menu is limited and different each weekend during this pandemic. My husband ordered the cod and I ordered chicken in a wine sauce. The salad with vinegarette dressing and the lemon lentil soup was on point. Everything was absolutely perfect and we felt safe the entire time. The views from the deck was gorgeous. Way to go! Thank you for helping us celebrate our marriage and going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I would 100% recommend this place!More

Had a hard time finding the restaurant, but thanks to the cell phone we got there and it was really worth the effort. Had Swedish meatballs and lingonberry Swedish dessert. Very good and satisfying. We split the meal between the two of us and had...enough to eat. Good conversation with the host.More

I really wanted to like this winery. I like it’s curb appeal and the inside keeping true to it being a barn. I did the tasting and all the wines were too dry for me. They had several people playing music. I figured they were...good but I just don’t like Bluegrass. Would have liked to try the Swedish food but the restaurant was closed at the time we were there.More

Hedman Vineyards is owned by a Swedish couple. They serve the best food in the entire Shawnee Hills Wine Trail area. I highly recommend the Chicken with Artichoke dish - it's fabulous! I've heard rumors that the couple, now in their 70's, are planning to...return to Sweden in the near future. I hope this doesn't mean that the restaurant will stop serving the Swedish menu!More

If I was just rating the wine I would give this 3/5. The wine was ok. Not bad, not great. We did like the Glogg which is like a mulled wine. We had lunch which was very good! We had the beef tenderloin and artichoke...chicken. Both were yummy!More

Four of us were touring the wine trail in the Shawnee. We stopped by Hedman Vineyard before noon, tasted five of the wines, bought a couple of whites, and continued on to additional wineries. When it came time to pick a place for dinner we...decided to go back to Hedman Vineyard. You should know that the owners are originally from Stockholm. That influences the decor and the menu. There are some traditional Swedish dishes, and of course there was salmon. We all picked something different, not all Swedish, but all with a Norther European influence. I had the salmon and enjoyed its preparation and side dishes. I noted a typical Swedish cake on the dessert menu. I ordered that and it came with four forks. All agreed that it was a great way to finish the meal. We enjoyed chatting with the owners (husband and wife). They were headed back to Stockholm to visit their daughter and join her and her family for a midsummer cruse of the Archipelago. It was the best choice we could have made for an enjoyable dinner.More

I'm sorry for your bad experience. We have had kitchen staff to keep the hair in tight buns or ponytails, now with your comment we'll add hats and bandanas.

Went here for Saturday lunch and wine tasting. The restaurant is delightful--decor is adorable, food is great, waitresses very personable. The restaurant absolutely is top-notch. Unfortunately, their own wines really are disappointing. They've evidently won some awards, but I don't know how. Their best products...are their sangrias, which are more fruit juice than wine.More
