We stopped for lunch as we were driving through Ashton. We have been by this so many times and never have eaten here. Had the mushroom swiss burger with tater tots, very good. The root-beer was also good. I resisted on a shake, but I am sure they are good too.

Stopped here for dinner on the way to west Yellowstone. Doesn't look like much but they were pretty busy and the burgers were really good! I would have loved to try a shake too but I was too stuffed to attempt it. There were two young ladies taking orders and cooking and they did a great job!

Stopped for lunch while passing thru Ashton on our way to Bechler Ranger Station. Had burgers, shakes and ice cream. It was approaching 100 degrees F that day, so it was a nice stop for us

Fast and delicious. Will go again when we go through again. We had the combo and pastrami and swiss burger. Both delivered above our expectations.

Cheeseburger and fries hit the spot after a morning of sightseeing. This was my first experience with fry sauce and I liked it. I don't think I will give up ketchup but when in Rome.... The car hops we all very nice and very efficient. Even though they have the old fashioned window trays, Don't expect them to hang one... More

On my way to Mesa Falls I saw a large root beer sign and I had to get my fix. I stopped in and was greeted by a friendly hostess. She recommend a few things that sounded delicious but I went with the cheese burger. A flavorful quater pounder with cheese was cooked to perfection. Root beer was great. People... More

My daughter and I stopped here on the way to Yellowstone. Pleasant surprise as I didn't know what to expect. rootbeer floats were, of course, delicious, but I also found their food to be prepared well and their staff was quite friendly and helpful.

Description
Frostop Dive-In has been operating on Hwy 20 in Ashton, Idaho for over 40 years. Our food is excellent, our menu is extensive, and our prices are fair.

The Frostop was founded in 1965 by Leland Garner. He built an addition two years later. He sold it in 1973 to Jerald Crittenden from Ashton and two men from St.Anthony. They called it Mug Jugs. Then in 1974 Andre Bollaerts from Redondo Beach, California bought it and sold it to George Nedrow and associates, who ran the business until David and Ray Lalonde purchased it in 1975 and it became Frostop once again, with the Frostop franchise being retained. Three years later, in 1978, the W.D. Chatterton family from Pocatello bought Frostop from the Lalondes and retained ownership until 1994, when they sold it to Roger Weber. After 42 years of serving Ashton the Frostop has once again changed owners with Wayne and Hannah McCausey taking over from Roger in 2007. We have enjoyed owning the Frostop and raising our little family here in Ashton, Idaho. Wayne was born and raised here. Hannah was born and raised in Homedale and Wilder, Id. We both were raised in the country and our raising our family in the country just outside of Ashton. We have two kids Dalyn & Kyra, they are still in school here at North Fremont. Our Family has become stronger and plan to be here for a long, long time. We built our home in 2004 and bought the Frostop in 2007 and now we have dug our roots in deep. Thanks for your support and come back again soon!!
