Another bad selection for YMT tour stop for lunch. Menu was set for us, since we had to pay I'm still confused on why the set menu. The food was mediocre, I would have been fine just eating snacks. The standard menu had more selections but I doubt that the quality was any better. It's time for a make-over!

In Kauai you can visit the "high priced" restaurants near Poipou or you can dine on the river for reasonable prices. This restaurant is by no means fancy, just good basic food. You will find many locals visiting. They have a small salad bar which is very adequate. People are friendly without being annoying. We make it a point to... More

Prices went up, staff don't even talk. Only one guy that took our order spoke. Terrible service. Food are small portion. So 10 min into my dinner found a piece of grill brush on my chicken that had been grilled. So I did not enjoy that. My opinion the place needs to be renovated the workers need to be trained... More

Okay, it's not the Waldorf. And the last few times I was there they lost their liquor license and we had to bring out own bottle, which, in the end is less expensive if more trouble. However, you can sit by the river and watch the boats on the way to and from the grotto. And the ground steak platter,... More

Our local friends took us here in 1978. It's on our list whenever we visit Kauai. A place of memories back from the 1970's. We even get the same servers we have had in the past 36 years! Teriyaki is the best!! Macadamia cream pie is to die for!!

This restaurant has been here for at least 25 years. We have been eating here for over 20. It is just a shell of it's former self but we still enjoy it. Overlooking the Wailua River, it reminds us of old Hawaii. They do not serve alcohol but there is no charge for bringing your own wine or beer. Menu... More

We enjoyed the view along the river and watched water skiers as we dined on the patio. It was a lovely scene. The chicken teriyaki, the teriyaki ribs and the mahi mahi were quite good. The salad bar was fresh and plentiful. This is an great place to dine. We return here yearly and the food is not expensive and... More

Not a very busy place. The view is gorgeous. The salad bar was not well stocked with variety. I ordered grilled chicken. The waiter said they were out so I ordered grilled mahi. Generous portion and cooked just right. Not a bad place. Could be great with a few tweaks.

Location was great and the patio was spacious and had a good view of the river. I came for lunch and was 1 of 3 people in this large restuarant. I had the stuffed pork chop off the dinner menu. I found the salad soggy and old (likely from a bag). Likewise, I don't think there was anything fresh in... More

We sat on the patio with a nice view of the river. The servers were attentive, but the food was not great. Basic bland salad bar with watery lettuce, Entrees were below average. Too bad because the service and view were good.
