Once things started opening back up after the quarantine my husband and I were craving some good Italian food. We do not like the bland food at the Italian "chain" restaurants so we sent out a message on Facebook asking for recommendations. Got back several...recommendations for Giovanni's. We live in Powder Springs and drive the East/West connector often but had never noticed the place. Went there for lunch today and we will be back! They have only recently re-opened the Dining Room so it was pretty empty at noon, but the service and the food was excellent. My husband had the ravioli with red sauce & chicken and I had the Spaghetti Carbonara. Both were excellent! There was no "lunch" menu so portions were huge; brought home enough for another meal. It is definitely not a fancy place but they make you feel welcome and treat you well. Can't wait to try other items on the menu.More

I ordered to go chicken piccata and torimusu. It was so nice to finally have a decent meal during these hard times.

First visit for me, but a regular for my sister-in-law. It was quaint, cozy and delicious. Definitely a little hidden gem of an Italian restaurant. True Italian food, homemade, and nice personal attention.

You have to be looking for this one to find it. And, it is worth finding. It is cozy and the service is excellent. The food was fresh and tasty, but I prefer a little more seasoning, but that's me. Our group enjoyed lasagna, Giovanni...chicken (which looked delicious) and I asked for an entree with eggplant. I didn't see it on the menu but they prepared eggplant parmesian for me. It was definitely enjoyed it. I must admit I have had better, but likewise I have had a lot worse. I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet music playing in the background and everything about this restaurant.More

Cozy family Italian restaurant that serves delicious meals made with family recipes. Portions are generous and the service is excellent. I was disappointed, however, that the antipasto appetizer on the menu is no longer available. The photo of the restaurant interior is not current. All...the tables now have table cloths and are normal height.More

My husband and I have driven by countless times and always talked about coming here. Well, today we did! What a lovely atmosphere & the food was delicious! We had the Fried Ravioli and Bruschetta for our starters. My husband got a meatball sub &...I got the chicken parmigiana sub. Then of course, a tiramisu for dessert. We met the owner, Giovanni & shared a lovely conversation. With his accent it reminded me of home. We will definitely be back!More

My husband and I don't often treat ourselves to a meal out but we're so glad we did today! A friend recommended Giovanni's and we enjoyed it so much. We were served by the owner himself who patiently explained the items on the menu. I...chose Chicken Giovanni - tender chicken (2 large breast pieces) with a delicate sauce including artichokes, peppers, mushrooms, a side of pasta. My husband enjoyed a delicious manicotti. Both of us had a Caesar salad which had shaved parm on top and a real tangy flavor. I took home my leftovers which will serve as a dinner (another day, we're both too full to eat dinner tonight). Proudly displayed was an inspection report showing a rating of A = 100%. We were able to speak to each other without raising our voices above the usual restaurant noise. Wine and beer was available. We will be back to try another of the delicious sounding entrees on the menu.More

We've lived in the area for many years and for some reason never came to Giovanni's. This was our loss because we were very happy with the food and the service. Giovanni waited on us and took great care of us. It was a little...slow and the food took a while but it was worth the wait. We had the shrimp fradiavolo and the lasagna. Both were very good. The tiramisu was highly rated but that will have to save room for next time.More

I am Italian born and bred. I went there with my 8 years old son who was playing soccer nearby. We ordered just some simple spaghetti with tomato sauce and loved it. Simple and al dente just like back in Italy. We will be back.

As soon as we sat down I was immediately reminded of our fabulous vacations in Italy! Hearing the Italian accents of the waiters and chefs, the slightly rickety tables, the intimate setting, and the smell of the delicious food! Simply wonderful! My 17 year old...daughter asked when we can go back to Italy, and my mom, age 76, talked about her trips to Italy over the years. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. My fish was perfectly prepared. The only thing that seemed lacking is we would’ve liked to have been offered some fresh Parmesan cheese for our pasta, and it would’ve been great to have some bread placed on the table.More
