When we arrived they were very busy, however we were greeted by several people before we were seated. Our server was very informative and the menu has several options for everyone. Our food came quickly and is very tasty. We will return ~

The service is outstanding here. We ordered dinners to go. The food was ok. The hush puppies were hard and the muffins were poor. The collard greens were great but everything else was tolerable.
Everyone was nice and cordial but we will never visit there again. We ordered a veggie omelette. She put in the order as the South Cobb Omelette with no meat. We waited 40 minutes for a take out order. We received a three egg omelette...with nothing, not even the cheese. The person after us received his order about 5 to 6 minutes before us. They never asked if we wanted a glass of water or tea to drink, we just sat there. We did not pre-pay and we should have walked out but we were willing to give them a chance.More
Friendly and prompt service. Chicken livers fried perfectly excellent green beans and mashed potatoes. Jalapeno slaw nice and spicy. Country fried steak also very good. And it was reasonably price. Will return.
We were given a giftcard and finally made to to have lunch. Friendly staff and the food was exceptional!! The menu has alot of vegetable choices and a wide variety of entrees, burgers, salads, and etc. We were so full and satisfied from our food...we didn't get to try dessert. We had the fish and fries with jalapeno coleslaw. The coleslaw was a great surprise and definitely will order again. We also ordered the country fried steak with white gravy, collard greens, and sweet mashed potatoes. Delicious!!More
We were pleasantly surprised by this diner. The young ladies the met us at the door were very friendly, seated us quickly even though they were busy. The waitress was also friendly and prompt. The food was very good. I had chicken fried steak, fried...okra and green beans, my wife also had the CFS but had mashed potatoes and a broccoli casserole. Every item was very good to excellent. The green beans were the best I have had.More
We have given the diner three tries but probably will not go back. The vegetable plate was pretty good. My husband has tried the grouper sandwich which probably wasn’t grouper. He has tried the country fried steak which was very hard to chew. The gravy...for the steak was not good either. The last time he tried the french dip sandwich which was microwaved. We know because we heard the staff discussing it and the meat came out looking dried and tasteless. The au jus was like water. The bleu cheese coleslaw and corn casserole were great. We love to support local restaurants but feel that they need some improvement. Staff was friendly and attentive. Sorry folks!More
The Salisbury steak with the brown gravy totally excellent homemade mashed potatoes Divine fried okra tender and delicious and their cakes they are worth the price. Nice slices and delicious, I recommend them all. Come and support, this diner is plugging a missing piece in...our area. Friendly staff prices are comparable to other chain restaurants but it's local and it's good.More
Austell is not a foodies place to go! The owners of West Cobb Diner in Marietta expanded to Austell. The first time I was there, the food was very good. Today, not so! Had their burger which this time was not up to par! It...was 2 beef patties with cheese on top. Not very tasty, rather bland. Seems that they ran out of regular burgers and served these sub par burgers. Service was good. Wife had chicken salad sandwich which was just ok. Same menu and same owners as West Cobb Diner, but seems like different food!More
My husband and I met here for lunch. Portions were ample, prices a little more than I expected, but reasonable. The food was good and the menu accommodated my husband's southern cooking preferences in a still healthy option. They accommodated special request modifications graciously to...my husband's South Cobb salad. I was skeptical of how easily I would find something... healthy, pescatarian (vegetarian, fish only) choices. The fish tacos were pretty good... the fried green tomatoes were far from impressive. South Cobb Diner didn't jump to the top of favorite restaurants list, but we would consider going again.More
Good Food, Service, and very clean. We came on our first visit and the food was awesome. Country Fried Steak was the best I have ever had.
Stopped in for dinner last week and was pleasantly surprised. Nice staff. Clean restaurant. Good food and (overall) reasonable pricing. Great find! Hope they keep up with those standards. We will definitely try it again!!
My family was on vacation and we always try to find a local joint wherever we go. I feel like we hit the jackpot with this place! My husband had the fish tacos which he raved about, our daughter had her go-to meal, a burger,...I had fish and chips, cooked perfectly, our son had fried seafood that included scallops, oysters, and shrimp which he devoured. Not only was the food incredible, but our waitress was probably one of the best we've ever had. I wish I had gotten her name, because she deserves credit... our cups stayed full, and she was diligent about making sure we were happy. She was so nice and polite! When we come back to Atlanta, we will definitely stop here again. You should try it, for sure!More
I had a family member in the hospital in that area and was really wanting some vegetables. Someone recommended this establishment and I decided to give it a try. It was fairly crowded at about 7:00pm but I was able to get a table. There...is no dedicated parking and I had to drive around to find a place on the street. I placed my order and then waited and waited on my food. When my food finally arrived, my server apologized by saying that my order got to the kitchen just behind an order for over 20 people which is what caused the delay. That was somewhat understandable but I had not been given any updates during my long wait. The food was good but not extraordinary by any means. The prices were right and I was glad to have had some vegetables. The place is loosely divided between a bar area with games and the dining room. i was somewhat hesitant as to where to enter because I was a lone female and did not wish to walk through the entire bar. It would have been nice if they had better signage directing you to the different areas. I noticed lots of middle-aged couples and younger people with children eating there.More
Unlike the West Cobb Diner, the service at this spin off is mediocre, the food is sub-par and the decor is non-existent. Everything right about the West Cobb Diner is wrong here. A huge disappointment. Our first visit a couple of years ago was better...(everything was just mediocre) this time the food had slid into the garbage. While the dishes theoretically have the same recipe the execution is lacking and we can find no reason to return. Too bad, Austell has so few choices. There were plenty of folks here on a Sunday afternoon, but I suspect that's due to the lack of competition.More
