The 1st time they only had roasted chicken; no fried. I don't understand that because their fried chicken is awesome.
The waitress (Alex) was terrific. The specialty drinks were good, but the Bloody Mary in a high ball glass? Tomato juice is not expensive and the very good drink deserved a better venue.
The Chicken and Biscuit with sausage gravy was great, but I suggest a little bigger biscuit. The special Coq au Vin was excellent. The hash, not so much; mostly potatoes and hard to find chicken bits.
We'll be back, pleasant atmosphere and good food.

The atmosphere is delightful and cozy. Great initial impression. Everyone was super nice and followed COVID precautions including all staff wearing mask at all times. I had the market green salad with seared salmon and oregano vinaigrette dressing. I don’t think I have ever had a salad that fresh and that I graved the next day. My boyfriend had the mild fried wings which were bland and over prices but he loved the collards and green beans. He is planning to get the salad with shrimp our next visit. This may be our new hot spot.

My husband and I stumbled across Frog and the Hen when looking through trip advisor for a lunch idea when traveling through Augusta heading home. Boy are we glad! The staff are super friendly. The hostess Hope was a smiling face even through a mask and our waitress/bartender (we sat at the bar) Bronwan was great! The food was just delicious and unique. My husband had the chicken and waffles and I got the roast chicken hash. We shared the Hen egg roll appetizer. It was all tasty. You can even order a drink from the bar to go with your brunch if you’d like. They have a small market area in front where you can get local items like grits and honey and even take home pre made specialties for dinner and heat it up for a weeknight treat. We will definitely be back when traveling through Augusta!

My friend and I went to dinner and we both ordered the fried chicken, with sides of mashed potatoes and collards.
We ordered an appetizer of the egg rolls.
Though the eggrolls were served hot and there were 2, the $9 price tag seemed a bit much for 2 average size eggrolls.
It took over 30 minutes for us to receive our orders. Although the fried chicken breast itself was exceptional, the sides of mashed potatoes and collards were served cold. The potatoes had firmed up and were tasteless. The collards were ok, just cold.
For dessert we both ordered the peach cobblerwhich was served In a paper cup with melted vanilla ice-cream. I'm assuming the cobblers were to be microwaved before serving. Only the top layer was warm. The center was still very cold and lacked peaches.

Farm to table theme, and the food reflected it. Great service - restaurant appears to not be impacted by the labour shortage. The food was very good, 1/4 chicken with two sides and southern fired chicken sandwich. Portions were fantastic, fries to condiments more than we could eat. Prices VERY good as well. No complaints and we will be back.

We chose Frog and the Hen in Augusta to celebrate a family birthday (our picky nine year old, and she actually chose this restaurant). The food was amazing, and the head hostess Hope went out of her way to accommodate our party of ten. Our server, Caitlyn, was WONDERFUL, and kept right on top of our requests, refills, etc., with a smile on her face all the time. I would request her section in the future. They have a great 1/2 price appetizer happy hour before 6pm. We loved the fried Mac n cheese balls, chicken egg rolls, and pimento cheese and crackers tray. For dinner several of us had their famous roasted chicken dinner and it was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. Others got the fried shrimp and loved it. Their fries are also great. I highly recommend this restaurant!

My wife had the shrimp Po' Boy and I had the chicken pot pie. Service was good. The restaurant was clean and had an upbeat look. The food was just okay. The pot pie was in a shallow casserole dish with sauce, peas, carrots, and several small pieces of chicken. The pie consisted of something that looked like a medium size biscuit sitting in the middle of the dish. Okay, $12? My wife found the roll on the Po'Boy too thick to really enjoy. The overall sandwich was just not as flavorful as some other Po'Boy's that she has had in our area. We were glad that we had tried the restaurant but probably would not return.

What a nice place to get some chicken. They had some nice combinations and I chose chicken and waffles. Good pieces of chicken with healthy waffles to accompany. I got a side salad as well and it was a good choice. The blue cheese dressing was hardly ordinary and went well together with the salad. I am not a chicken eater, but this place gives a good reputation to fried chicken.

We went around 5:30 PM on a Thursday. Greeting and seating was prompt. Service was quick. The Shrimp Po Boy was delicious as were the other dishes; waffles, morning chicken sandwich, cheddar biscuits, chicken and waffles and Spicy Bloody Mary. Worth a return visit.

Very modern and attractive restaurant off of Wheeler Road. Lots of Southern dishes. Cheese muffins were yummy. A little heavy on the salt so you might ask to tone it down. Nice drink specials. Excellent service.

Not my favorite. Gravy biscuit similar to a gumbo gravy on a doughy biscuit. Bacon was still a little slimy. My husband had the hash bowl and said it was good. Service good and was clean. Might go back for another visit. Was there for Sunday Brunch.

Love the food here, prices are reasonable and the service is great. Today, Trey was our wait person and he did a fabulous job - thank you Trey! I also love being able to make a reservation - it’s so popular that this is important. Overall, I would highly recommend!!

Charming rustic place with outstanding service and food!! Our server Fred was the highlight of our dining experience. Excellent service and anticipates guests needs. Although wearing a mask you know there’s a splendid smile underneath!! This place should be called Fred & the Hen because he truly was a gem. So hard to find such excellent service with hospitality. The food was delicious and comforting. This was a family of 9 from 3 different states getting together in a middle spot and we were just blown away that Augusta Ga had such a wonderful place!! Highly recommend.

Nice local spot in my neighborhood. It gets pretty popular on the weekend. The salmon and grits are the absolute best on the menu. The grits are so good. I could eat this meal multiple times a week.
