Great place for lunch. This is a German bakery that serves soups and sandwiches mainly. They have really good breads and German pastries as well. You can get the "daily double", which is a turkey on sour dough rye bread, and a cup of soup, for 3.00. You should try a glass of "sunshine tea" which is basically an Arnold... More

Two friends and I went to sunshine Bakery to celebrate my birthday. We ordered a Reuben with rye bread. A cup of soup of the day comes with it. Ours was potato soup. Then I was offered a free dessert for my Birthday. It was delicious.

I go here often for quick business lunches. The food is ALWAYS good. I particularly recommend the Reuben or the half turkey & cup of soup du jour.

The Sunshine Bakery is so unassuming but such a great find. The food is delicious; and the baked goods are wonderful. Very fairly priced, and a super place for lunch.

It was recommended we stop here for a quick lunch. I had the Etza Metza (spelling) with salami, cheese and russian dressing on rye bread. It was awesome!!!! The bread was so fresh and tasty. A nice simple sandwich but extremely tasty. It came with a cup of split pea soup (soup of the day) which was also very good.... More

Recommended by a local friend. While it may lack in atmosphere, the staff was friendly and the food was surprisingly good. Something you may see on Diners, Driveins, and Dives. Awesome bread. Enjoyable older local joint.

I recently had lunch here and wish I had looked around inside more carefully before I sat down! Usually one associates a wonderful aroma with a bakery, however this one was dark, dingy and there was no pleasant aroma. The booth chairs were all covered with tape, presumably covering rips in the vinyl. I ordered a sandwich which generally was... More

I believe that I am being kind giving this bakery an average rating and not a poor for only one reason. The potato soup is tasty. This bakery has seen better days (the 1980s, perhaps). This place is dark, outdated and uninspiring. Bakery products are just okay. Their products look as tired as the showcases they are displayed in. The... More

We ate there last week. The place was kind of dark so at first we did not notice how badly the place was run down. The table legs were rusty, the chai runs were dusty and the from window was dirty We used to eat there every time we were in Augusta for lunch but now we will find a... More

It had been awhile since I have eaten here and as I was downtown thought I would stop in for lunch. It was 2:30 and they close at 3:00, but not a sole was in the restaurant. The door was open as I guess they needed air circulation, the place was dark and dreary At first I thought their power... More
