We had lunch one day. The menu is small, but each dish that we ordered was excellent. Our waitress recommended a great red wine, and I ordered a bottle when I got home.

Interesting and good menu choices from lighter flatbreads and sandwiches to full entrees. The pasta special had an unusual (and delicious) sweet potato sauce and everything seemed fresh to order.

Scott, Sachin, and Josh have a great menu, beautiful bar, and provide super service. Go downstairs for drinks before and after your meal at The Root.

Interesting wood fire concept with great bars--one upstairs and one in the "root cellar". Good date place, meeting up with friends and Sunday brunch!

We recently tried The Pine in Athens, GA for dinner and were certainly pleased! Their crab cake appetizer was one of the best cakes we've ever had. The menu is limited, but what they do, they do very well. Our party had the daily pasta...More

The Pine has friendly servers and super twists on your favorite menu choices. I had airline chicken w risotto and a marvelous Chardonnay to wash it down. Mmmm! My friend had one of the flatbread dishes baked in their unique oven, named Stephanie. Both of...More

I love everything and always want more than one thing so we order 2 - 3 appetizers and a flatbread so that we can try a variety. Don't miss out on the cocktails either. This place knows flavor.

I had looked forward to dinner at The Pine after reading reviews. However, I found my overall rating to be average. While the atmosphere is really comfortable and posh by college town standards, the food was average. I wasn't wowed. No need to return.

Rediscover traditional Southern cuisine. Wood-fired cooking is the heart of The Pine where our custom, wood-stoked oven gives distinctive savoriness to classic, down-home dishes. Drawing inspiration from around the world, The Pine masterfully blends complex flavor with delicious simplicity to delight every appetite. Our menu celebrates what is local and seasonal; while the bar highlights all-American wine, craft beer, and specialty cocktails. The restaurant is as casual as it is chic with artisan crafted heart-pine bar, hand-made brick oven and original, local artwork — all proudly “athens made”. It’s no secret that guests feel at home here hanging with friends for a drink or bite to eat. A genuine neighborhood gathering place located in the heart of Five Points, The Pine is open for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.
