Sited in an old building on Lumpkin and Clayton the Globe is laid back and not connected..it's an older time here which is a relief from rushing about. Dog friendly al fresco. Had a fine roast beef sandwich with a side salad that was generous. Able to read and reflect in summer quiet.

I felt very comfortable here. I sat on their leather coach, and read the Sunday New York Times while drinking a local craft brew. Great way to spend an hour.

Located on the prime corner of Lumpkin and Clayton, across the street from the historic Georgia Theater, the Globe has been a favored water hole for the university's literati since it opened in 1989. In the early years it was the prime hangout for profs, postdocs and grad students, and was widely recognized for one of the most diverse collections... More

Had the French Dip with fries. Lots of meat and tasty French bread made a delicious sandwich and the Su jus was good. Salad with Tandoori chicken was ok, but needed more chicken.

I spend most Sunday afternoons at the Globe listening to an Irish music jam session with a constantly revolving group of 7-15 accomplished musicians. It has an old-world pub atmosphere, the best homemade potato chips with blue cheese sauce in the state and a large selection of local and craft beers.

We rode down from Clemson expecting it to be quite with schools out but there was a packed crowd for bike races at the Twilight event! Was going to Ga Theater rooftop to eat lunch but it was packed with everyone just drinking so we found this place. Staff very friendly, quick service and food was good. Great pub atmosphere... More

Went there for a late dinner. The menu is somewhat limited but eth food was very good and the waitress did a great job! I was impressed with her knowledge and the speed in which she got us in and out of the restaurant

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a nibble and a micro-brew since the Last Resort mentioned on TripAdvisor was closed for two hours midday. They had a good selection of beer & food choices and a delightfully funky rustic atmosphere. We were pleasantly surprised with an Irish ensemble playing Celtic music. (We're from Oregon & were intrigued with... More

We had a great time at the Globe with a bunch of friends celebrating my mother's 100th birthday on Sunday afternoon/evening. There was a pick up band playing all kinds of music, as usual for a Sunday, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The staff is great and treats us like family. They serve great pub food and specialize in interesting... More
