Good day today at the Heirloom. UGA classes are out, no waiting line, weather was pleasant. Had a Love on a Biscuit and The Omelet. Everything cooked fresh. Food tasted great but the coffee refills a little hard to get. Had to ask for scones...to get them and this used to be an automatic thing. Overall a good visit, however.More
I used to love Heirloom, and the folks who run it are great--real contributors to Athens. But....When Heirloom opened in 2011 and for a few years it was my favorite restaurant in Athens. I went there frequently. But it has suffered over the years, with...deteriorating service, and, for the money, a menu that really doesn't change much and frequently overcrowded and noisy atmosphere inside. The wait staff often seemed immature, inexperienced, overwhelmed and the service is slow. Maybe that's a result of Athens being a college town. Sadly, I won't be going there anymore after my last experience. I suggest Homemade or the National for a pricey place to eat.More
Needed a healthy and filling brunch and the Heirloom ticked all the boxes. Even though it was a Sunday morning, I was seated outside at a lovely table under the awning. Everyone was super friendly, and the menu choices were plentiful, including the GF pancakes...made with Almond flour. It really was a sweet place to sit and relax. Delicious omelette and coffee as well.More
We just love this place, and the service is wonderful. The drawback is that twice now at dinner, our food has been extremely salty and peppery- particularly the Mac and Cheese and pasta. Lunch is consistently good and we have not have over salted food...then. Will stick with lunch from now on.More
Very nice, very friendly staff, and good food. This is a converted service station with plenty of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Went on a day with pleasant weather, and they had the big garage door open to the outside. Got to know...several of the staff. Ate the meat loaf sandwich with fries.More
I was there for a high school cheerleader awards dinner on a rainy, wet night. The food was very good, served for us buffet stile. I had the salad with ham and mashed potatoes (although I did try some of the mac&cheese ) all was...very good. The service I can't comment on however, the employees were friendly and helpfulMore
Delicious food for someone who is lactose and gluten intolerant. Food was unique and yummy!!! I will definitely be back again!
Our first visit to Heirloom - Memorial Day Weekend - was excellent. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Neil was our server and did a great job. We were there early in the evening, seated outside, weather was perfect. There were five us,...3 adults and 2 children. Cheese & Charcuterie - very, very good selection of cheese, salami, bread, crackers, blue cheese, kimchi, etc. We had the Chicken Mull which is the house soup - well prepared with a bit of a kick! Also, spring pasta and grass fed burgers and the best shoe string French Fries! The burgers were simply great - well prepared; with Tillamook cheddar, house mustard, chili mayo, grilled onion, lettuce, Luna sesame bun - the spring pasta was excellent - Pappardelle, Ellijay mushrooms, peas, arugula, broth, lemon, Grana Padano. We highly recommend the Heirloom Cafe and will call it a local favorite. We'll be back!More
We attempted to call ahead for our order to-go and spent 12 minutes on hold waiting for the server to come back on the phone (hearing all they were talking about behind the bar and calling out to someone to pick up the live phone)....We gave up and went there in person and were able to place our order. We waited outside watching others get their orders for more than 30 minutes until a friendly waitperson spotted us and asked our name and returned with our order in less than a minute. HOWEVER, when got to eating our food, it was excellent. My wife and I both got the pulled pork hash and it was outstanding. Wonderful flavor mixture - very hearty taste. We will come back again just for the pulled pork hash!More
Have visited Athens many times. First time here. Will not be back. Made a reservation 2 weeks ahead. When we arrived the place was mostly empty, yet we were promptly seated at the one bad table in the house. Against a concrete wall, under a...utility box, looking into the kitchen. Place looked charming on the open side, what a shame they thought less of us. Pimento cheese plate was good, so interesting. We both had breakfast for dinner. The pulled pork had many dry pieces. Love the idea of this place, really wanted to like it, but will not return.More

This is a really neat place. Interesting menu. The server was excellent. Very busy at 11:30 on Saturday. A little pricey but worth it. The greeting and seating coiuld be a little more organized.
Was taken here by local friends who have always touted the fresh, farm-to-table fare at Heirloom. No exaggeration! Also before Thanksgiving, they will host anorganic green market for the neighborhood. The brunch we enjoyed was sumpudtous and fresh. Excellent service and staff as well.
We have eaten dinner here several times and thought that we would try it for brunch. It was disappointing...we were seated at 1:30 (our reservation time) but it was an hour before we saw our food. We had a mix of breakfast items...one of them...was lukewarm when it arrived. And, the taste varied from average to below average. Given that we have had a nice dinner here, I am reluctant to say that you should not go. But, given our experience today, we definitely will not go back for brunch. There are other better options nearby.More
I was out antique shopping and stopped at this cute converted gas station. I got the BLT with fresh fruit. It was light and delicious. The service is wonderful and the servers are very attentive. I would reccomend this for a great light meal.
