I will compare to Red Lobster, as that is a familiar place. While the food was decent and the wait staff very good, other things make it a frustrating eating experience. The 'on-line' menu and their written version don't agree - so come prepared to...change your mind. The in house menu does not list sides separately - you have to read each available entree to see what is offered so you will know what they have that can be switched to the entree you want. Only 3 salad dressings to choose from, so bring some with you. The potato side was 6 little wedges rather than a pile of french fries. And no tartar sauce, so if you don't like Remoulade, tough luck. Price comparable to Red Lobster. Bottom line, my wife and I decided there were fewer issues at Red Lobster - you can rely on them to generally meet expectations better.More

Six of us went for an early dinner last Friday evening. We were greeted by the staff before we even got in the door. They opened the door for us and welcomed us in. Being there early, we were seated immediately and our server soon...appeared. She brought menus, took our drink orders, and answered our numerous questions (our first time there). Then, out came the hot cheese biscuits, which were absolutely outstanding. All our dinner orders came out at the same time and prepared the way we wanted. We each ordered something different, and we all thought each was delicious. Desserts - bread pudding, chocolate mousse cake, and salted caramel cheesecake were even better than the entrees. After more customers began to come in, our server was right there with us, meeting our every need. She went over and beyond in a number of areas...just wish I could remember her name so that I could give an extra loud shout out to her.More

Love going to George's! I literally crave their chargrilled oysters every week. If you go on Tuesday for their oyster special, you better get their early because they go fast! I've had a handful of dishes here and they have all been wonderful, I especially...love their blue cheese stuffed filet. The service is always top notch. We will continue to visit George's regularly.More

After having crawfish tail etouffee, crab bisque, and sampling oysters Rockefeller with Terrapin beer I will return to this location. Even with my wife driving, I went to sleep somewhere in that 38 miles to home.

We made a point to eat here for my birthday. I wanted oysters and they were rumored to have good ones. We ordered a fried crawfish app and oysters to start and the crawfish was so bland my husband wouldn’t eat it. The oysters were...served on a small plate with no ice and weren’t very chilled. There was no saltines either. I ordered some crab bisque and a wedge for my meal and my husband ordered jambalaya. We randomly were served my husbands salad, then some time after my soup arrives and it’s cold and very bland. My salad never shows then his meal comes and it’s super bland, he said it tasted like it came from a box. I canceled my salad because it never showed and I didn’t want it with my cold soup. Service was not good either. Just a bad experience for a special night out.More

The restaurant is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. I thought the food was only ok. We had oysters that were delivered on a plate without ice and were just below room temperature. My jambalaya was bland which was a little disappointing for a...low country restaurant and a hamburger one of my friends had was raw throughout. Our server was pleasant but did nothing to even try to remedy the raw hamburger.More

Party of three. Two ordered eggplant pirogue, I had seared red fish with étouffée. All were excellent. Cheesy biscuits served first, nice side salads, and to-die for freshly shucked oysters. Wine by the glass was comparatively generous, about 7-8 ounces. They were busy with a...couple of parties at 6 p.m. but service was acceptable and got us out at a pre-stated time to make a subsequent rngagement.More

The food for Sunday Brunch was great but service wasn’t. Glad I ordered the Eggplant Pierogi even though the server didn’t give me a great review when I asked about it...it was EXCELLENT!

I ask google for a seafood place and this place was close by. I ordered the shrimp etouffe, I believe. It was alright, but kind of bland. Needed some more spices, not necessarily hot spices, just more spices. The waiter though, a young guy, was...really great. So I gave him a good tip.More

The new building is beautiful! The colors and decor inside is beautiful, warm, and inviting. I ordered the braised short ribs and mashed potatoes, which was delicious! The leftovers re-heated well the next day. I had them for breakfast this morning :) The full bar...is very nice! I'll be back soon for a drink and an appetizer of shrimp and grits.More

1st time back to George’s since they moved to their new location. Nice brand new facilities. Great service as usual, great menu as it has stayed the same. But, ...... it now is just a big restaurant. The ambiance, the coziness, the great patio (...outside seating is now right there along the parking, cars, exhaust,etc.)...... all has changed. Really liked the old location, not so much now. Probably be back for the eats, but maybe not as often.More

We had a long weekend and stopped in our on way home. Lady answering phone super nice. Our waitress Lindsay was awesome. She kept our water filled and was very attentive without being annoying. She packed our 3 desserts to go very well. Each dessert...was delicious. I included a picture of the key lime pie. We really enjoyed the beef short ribs and the gumbo soup. Everything was delicious including the biscuits before the meal. I would give it a 5 stars but for this annoying server who was dominating the conversation at the other table. He was so loud and overbearing to be distracting. I had 13 year old twins with me. One looked at me and asked why he was so loud? I shouldn't have to eat my meal Hearing your opinion about wine like you are in my lap.More
