We went in to get a quick take out dinner on a busy Friday night, ordering ch-li dogs and onion rings. If you know the Varsity from Atlanta, it is pretty much the same. The service is quick and friendly, and the food is yummy for what it is.

this is a good place for some fast hot dogs and hamburgers. If you like chili, try a chili dog or a chili burger. The onion rings are good but a little greasy.

Yes it's part of our Georgia history!!! I've been there many times and enjoyed my hot hotdogs, whether it is a chili dog or a slaw dog it's still the varsity!!!! If you've never been you've got to go!!!!!!!! I don't much care for their hamburgers, but the hot dogs are average. At my last visit I was greeted with... More

The Varsity is a place I have gone to for 30 years when I get a chance to visit Athens or Atlanta. If your on a diet and watching your waste line then pass it on by. If you want a great Chili dog and french fries then stop on in for a treat. Located in the middle of Athens... More

For my entire (55 years) of life I have eaten at the Varsity. It was always a treasure to get to go as a child, especially during the summer for a "frosted orange". My mother used to get up at 2 am and drag me and my sisters to Atlanta, just to eat a "chilidog" It is not the place... More

They used to have the greatest onion rings, breaded just ring NOW they have changed the battering to a thicker more breaded and it takes away the traditional varsity flavor.

I always love getting a couple of dogs at the Varsity. Good food, quick service, friendly staff and nice decor. I'm from Chicago, but these dogs are not like Chicago dogs, so don't expect them to be the same. These are a different and nice experience.

If you've recently moved to Athens and are thinking that you have a clone of the Atlanta Varsity just down the street, I have some bad news. The food isn't bad, but it's not made with the expertise or care of the other locations. What you get here is only half a standard deviation better than typical American fast food.... More

I grew up going to The Varsity in Atlanta and continue to eat here since we moved to Athens. The greeting is always great and the chili dogs, onion rings and peach pie are my favorites! A tradition that I intend to keep forever!
