A friend who's mother in law lives in Athens recommended the place. Very casual. You order at the counter then sit at picnic tables. We had dinner there and enjoyed it so much we were the first in line when they opened for lunch the...next day before driving home. The beef empanadas were awesome as was the cuban sandwich (liked the criollo version more than the steak which was more like a latin philly cheesesteak). The tostones and the madras (green a ripe plantains)were really good. Ran out of time to try the other items. By the way its BYOB, wish we had known.More

It is going down hill fast. Spend your money elsewhere! Staff was rude and the wait time was unheard of!!

Perfect outdoor restaurant! Lots of seating for social distancing, excellent cleaning being done between customers. Portions were great. You can BYOB, but the gas station next door recently lost its liquor license, so plan accordingly and bring it with you or stop before you come....A few people had small coolers they brought with them. Portions were great and there is on-site parking.More

We love the distinctive atmosphere here and the really great good. The fish tacos and tamales are among our favorites, and prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. However lines can be very long And slow moving at times and the...place can be very noisy when crowded. Lunches are quieter than evenings much of the time. Except when there are long lines and hence long waits for food, it is a fun place to go with kids.More

When I pulled up, I wasnt sure if the place was open for business. I walked in to a decor like no other. Maybe , if there was a "hood" in Cuba.... I reluctantly order the tropical taco and OMG. Delicioso

My wife always orders the fish tacos. I try different things everytime we go. During warm weather this is a favorite lunch spot for university students and towns folk alike. The food is Central American. My niece from Spain loves to eat here.

We used to LOVE Cali n Tito's, and were super excited for some fish tacos today, but after our experience we turned around and left...maybe for good. The line is always long, which is understandable, but when we finally approached the front of the line,...we were not permitted to order, and were rudely ignored by the cashier who started having a private conversation in Spanish w someone who cut to the front of the line. This person at first seemed like they just wanted to ask a question, which would have been fine. HOWEVER, turns out they were ordering for TWO families, with two separate checks, the whole nine. I speak fluent Spanish and could understand the whole encounter which took more than 10 minutes, during which time the cashier did not even acknowledge us or the dozen people in line behind us. Not even an apology for the wait, let alone the blatant cutting in line by this rude customer. You can't always control your customers, but you can choose your response. When my husband confronted the cashier and the rude customer, pointing out that they cut in line, the cashier was even ruder and shrugged us off saying rude things in Spanish about us (which I fully understood). This is when we turned and walked out. As we did, we heard the customers behind us in line say to themselves "apparently you have a leg up if you speak Spanish". This is highly unfortunate as we have always enjoyed the food at CnT. However, I doubt we will return after this experience.More

I have been to Cali N Tito's on several occasions and have never had anything bad to eat. Everything has been delicious. Everyone must go here when in Athens!

Probably my favorite restaurant in Athens! So cute and funky and nostalgiac and unique. The food is amazing, Cuban inspired and has something for everyone and the atmosphere is so light and joyous. Dive-y, BYOB, and cash-only this place is a classic Athens establishment and...you will find a line most afternoons and evenings, especially when the weather is nice. A must-visit if you are from out of town and good for big parties since you order and pay individually and there is plenty of space - even if you have to eat in the boat :-)More

Yes! Several times we've decided to eat at home and called in our order. Everything was prepared as requested. Just remember that this is a CASH ONLY establishment. Well worth the trip to an ATM if needed.
