Great beach café/bar. If your cruise ship visits Trujillo it's a must. Good food and good selection of beers and cocktails. We had the fish and chips. Very clean toilets. Free sunbeds to customers. Friendly staff.

We came into Trujillo from our cruise ship and after visiting the fort and having a walk around the town, we need something cold and refreshing to drink. We walked along the road back to the ship that had many restaurants and bars, and selected...Carivida Club Café as it is a bright and fresh looking place with an open deck area to the beach in back. We selected well, as the place was relaxed and the staff very welcoming and friendly. It is a clean and well cared for restaurant (and the washrooms are clean and modern). We enjoyed some good and cold margaritas and local beers, along with some yummy nachos. Carivida Club Café is an excellent place to stop for a bite to eat in this historic port town!More

This place is a must visit. Amazing food and great staff. I don't speak Spanish and everyone was very helpful. The bathrooms are clean and compare to the ones we have back home (in canada). The whole fish is the best thing ever.

dropped in on a Thursday night and was informed that it was "pizza and a movie night". the regular menu was available however i opted for the pizza.... and the movie. what a great experience. watching a movie, twenty feet or less from the ocean,...slowly savoring a great pizza with my choice of toppings- amazing. service was top notch, food was better than I expected and the prices seemed fair. icing on the cake, after I was done my pizza they brought popcorn. yay! i love popcorn and a movie.I will be back.More

I need to first say that the food here is excellent. It is also not a lower price either (for mainland Honduras). However, myself and 3 others choose this place because it looked newer and "trendy" from the outside. I learned from living on the...island of Roatan, Honduras, that nicely designed places can sometimes mean a 1st world dining experience. Great exterior, all stuccoed concrete walls inside, nice colorful design, sea breezes, bar, various sized tables and chairs, all looking out to sea. Menus available in both English and Spanish. All types of food served. Being low season, we were the only ones there and nothing was kitchen prepped; so I wasn't completely surprised when the food didn't arrive at our table for almost one hour. Our waitress gave us good quality service, but still no one was happy waiting. The whole fried fish ($10) with sides that my wife and mother in law had were X-Large and wonderful. I had the Greek Salad with optional grilled shrimp; and I even questioned the chef first to make sure he had all the ingredients. He did...and the salad was excellent, albeit for $14. Overall.. a great meal. Likely, the most expensive anywhere in Trujillo, but we really enjoyed our meal. Yes, I've dined in Trujillo elsewhere a few times. The "BUT BEWARE" part I mentioned is this: For some reason, the restaurant's 2 bathrooms are not finished, and according to the staff, they haven't been worked on for months, even though the management is aware of the issue. What is the problem? Well, there are no walls in the bathrooms. None. So, all the toilets are out in the open. That's right! Everyone can see you. In addition, to add insult to the whole deal, there is no door on the entrance to the bathroom, just a flimsy cloth shower curtain. So, forget about any privacy. The women in our group had to bring someone along to stand watch at the entrance of the bathroom. What a joke...but no one was laughing. Totallly unacceptable. I hope the ownership gets this issue resolved, or the tourists willing to pay more money for a great meal, will not come twice...regardless of the great service and the great food.More

Best restaurant in Trujillo. We were visiting friends in Trujillo and found this great new place. Finally a nice place besides the ones at the resorts. Great food, amazing atmosphere and excellent service. Good prices and specials too. The best.
