A must beach to visit while in Roatan. One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. I had the lionfish at the restaurant and it was absolutely fabulous. If you have never tried it, it is a must. Most fantastic place. Totally loved...it. You have to go. You will not be disappointed.More
We came here on the recommendation of our tour guide to try the Lionfish. The restaurant is located in a beach club down a steep hill off the main road and the location is really beautiful. Deep beach, white sand, lots of beach chairs, etc....It was high season but there were very few people at the beach club. There’s a dock that’s in some need of repair but overall there were some beautiful views!
We walked a little way down the beach to the restaurant and were the only guests there. The staff acknowledged us when we walked in but it still took about 5 minutes for someone to come over with menus. One busied herself straightening all the chairs at other tables rather than just come over and talk to us...we considered leaving but we had made the drive just for this meal so we stayed. There seemed to be some discord among the staff. Lots of angry talk, they were not super happy to be there. Our meal took at least 30 minutes to come out (we joked among us that they must have been out catching it all).
We ordered the Treasure Chest ($40) which came with deep fried everything and a lobster tail. The lobster was super dry and tough and we didn’t eat much of it. It’s hard to mess up deep fried shrimp or calamari - those were good. The fries were cold and the conch balls over fried. The highlight of the meal was the Lionfish...also fried but very tasty.
If you go to this restaurant best to stay away from the lobster or conch, and stick to the Lionfish Fish and Chips. We should have also ordered the grilled Lionfish...for a less deep fried experience.
The thing that sealed the deal for us on the place was this: the flies were. out. of. control. When I say there were 20 buzzing around our food I do not exaggerate. It made it impossible to enjoy one bite without waving our hands constantly. I thought maybe since we were the only ones in the place we attracted them all to us, but it was easy to see 10 more flies just sitting on all the adjacent tables. I get that flies are tough to avoid and we had some at other restaurants too...but not like this. There must be something to be done about this...a fly trap? Fire? Candles? I don’t know, but this was next level. By the time the food came we were starving so we ate as fast as we could and got out of there.More
Came here as part of a Royal Caribbean cruise two years in a row. Gorgeous venue, pristine beach. If riding horses in the surf, ask for Roni as your guide. General is a beautiful horse. Great food at Louie's. Ask for Jack - he's the...owner and a great guy. Wonderful excursion. We may go back again this year.More
This place is located in the beautiful Beach Club area, the food is really great, and very nice staff. My husband had the lionfish fillets and said they were delicious ( a slight form of revenge on this invasive species)!More

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice review. Did anyone of our staff inform you that you were helping save our precious reef by consuming that fish? I am happy you enjoyed our place, but extremely happy you tried the Lionfish....More
Everything is overpriced and just poor quality. Stopped for lunch wanted to try the Lionfish, and was just not impressed with any of the meal, so not worth it.More

Wow! We are certainly disappointed to hear this. For five years we have had such wonderful reviews, I wish I knew where we went wrong. I agree we are people and cannot be 100 percent all the time, but we are always trying to improve...More
This is everything you would expect of a beachside bar and grill. The proprietor, Jack, a former restaurant designer and builder from South Carolina, is proud to offer the freshest of seafood and friendly service. Enjoy a tropical cocktail or an ice-cold beer inside or...out on the beach. And be sure to order the lionfish. Not only is it delicious, but you will be doing the ocean a favor. The lionfish is an aggressive, invasive predatory species that is eating up all the reef fish, so you will be helping to keep their population under control.More

It should have been explained to you that the proper amount should have been $120. Although activities are services, when a credit card is passed taxes are automatically applied. I don’t know about the extra nine dollars in change but I would like to somehow rectify this situation. I am not sure if you can respond on TripAdvisor but we do have a website.
