Located in a historic building, very close to Santander Street... this place has fresh and comforting Japaneese food. Attended by the owner and a very nice and attentive staff in a very clean environment. A pleasure any day...

I am japanese. It was authentic japanese. I had fresh tuna with rice which was really delicious. The place is very nicely decorated. When I go to panajachel, I will always visit there. The owners husband also owns pancake or american style restaurant which was also very popular amoug the foreigners who live or who stay in panajachel longer rather... More

Everything about this place is amazing! The venue is beautiful and it's off the Main Street so you don't get hassled by anyone trying to sell you stuff. Plus it's surrounded by garden and very elegant and romantic! Food was perfect. Great Japanese! Service was fantastic. Everyone was really nice and welcoming and the food didn't take too long. Would... More

Delicious food! They have a variety of Japanese food and is very well run. Got the deep fried shrimp roll and the only thing I didn't care for was the broccoli in the roll. The tempura appetizers was delicious and had potato, red and white onion, celery, and green bean. Very good food in a wonderful setting.

Beautiful, quiet setting in the garden of Casa Kakchiquel, run by a really nice japanese woman who certainly taught her employees in the kitchen well. Excellent miso soup, vegetable tempura very crispy and delicious, bowl of fried pork over rice with onions and sauce is yummy, chowmein noodles with vegetables, chinese dumplings.... Everything I have tried here so far is... More

I've eaten quite a lot of sushi and for a place in Guatemala this seemed odd. We had to give it a go though. All was made fresh - I could see it being made. The fresh gyoza are up there with what I've had elsewhere. Really romantic setting too. Very impressed with standard and service!

The food was very good. I had miso soup, sushi and a chicken lo mein. All dishes were served nicely and were quite good. The service however was extremely slow and the place wasn't even that full....so if you want good Japanese food but you're not in a rush, I would recommend this restaurant.

What a tasty meal - lovely sushi, so authentic tasting in a quiet romantic setting. Gyoza's were yummy and the deep fried shrimp sushi was delicious. We had 14 pieces of sushi and 6 gyoza's with 4 glasses of wine and it came to Q280 with a tip. We thought that was a bargain for good quality sushi. Highly recommend.

The Tempura Shrimp Sushi was delicious! A hearty serving too. A lovely, serene garden setting to dine in with amazing old photographs on the walls. Birds sang to us during our meal. Friendly and gracious hosts who offered menus in Spanish or English, plus everything was written in Japanese as well. Another bonus? We stayed after dinner and watched a... More

Guatemala is one of the few countries that has been able to avoid culinary colonization by lower-end Chinese restaurants, so discovering a mid-range Japanese restaurant in Panajachul is like finding a pearl of great value. Restaurante Hana (which means "flowers" in Japanese) is said to count among its patrons Japan's ambassador in Guatemala City, which must attest to something. One... More
